We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children. The category 4 cabins for our selected week are sold out. We can get other categories with connecting staterooms. Our question is--for those of you with 3 kids, did you do catetegory 4 or do connecting other categories? I am afraid we will miss the verandah if we go with connecting staterooms and that perhaps we should wait; or perhaps we will be in our stateroom so little the verandah will not matter. Thanks!

We had friends with a family of 5 who did connecting cat. 10's. They were happy to gain the 2nd bathroom, and were not in the cabin enough to miss having a verandah. There's so much to do, if they wanted some quiet time, they went the the deck 7 aft verandah--which only happened once.

Hope this helps.

How about a category 5 or 6 and a category 11 right across the hall. This way you get a verandah and 2 bathrooms.

We also are a family of 5 and on our Aug 18 Wonder cruise we had two cat. 5 connecting rooms. It was great. We are doing the same thing for our April 13, 2003 Wonder cruise. Enjoy.

We are 2 adults and 3 children also. When we booked, the category 4 and 2 connecting rooms... secret portholes were both available for about the same price. We opted for the connecting rooms for the privacy, the space, the 2 split baths, the privacy, the extra storage.......We couldn't be more excited. The #4 verandah is pretty unaccessable once the kids go to bed because you have to climb over the murphy bed to get out the door. We'll still have a whole room to ourselves once the kids go to bed. No turning off the TV b/c it will keep the kids awake, or having to go to bed before we were ready to just so the kids would go to sleep also. Whenever we travel, we try to get a suite, 2 rooms, a seperate bedroom area.....whatever. Our kids just don't sleep well when we are all together in 1 hotel room, and neither do we! I was so glad the connecting rooms wer available. If you really have to have the verandah, change your week. If the verandah isn't an absolute must have, the rooms in other categories are just as nice, just not available for a family of 5.

2 years ago we did 2 connecting cat 8 which we loved. We were not in the room that much so didn't really miss the veranda. This year we are doing a cat 7 and a cat 11 across the hall. This was a cheaper option then 2 connecting 8. The kids think that is neat that they will have their own room.

We did what howardk613 suggested. I was hoping that having the two separate rooms and the additional bathroom would be the right decision...

We are also a family of 5 going 2adults, 3 girls 11,14 & 15. We decided on two connectng category 10 cabins. We felt having more space would be better, 2 televisions, 2 bathrooms just more space in general. At the time we booked if I remember correctly the category 4 was about $800 more.
