[/FONT]We are a family of 5- myself, DH, DS(6),DD(5), DS(2), how does the seating work. We have never been before and would like to try on our next trip.

I have never either, but will be in May. From the pictures I've seen, you enter like a booth but you all face the big screen with a table across the back of the seat in front of you. It looks cool. I have heard alot of good things about it!!!! :)

I think that the cars hold 2 people in each seat or row and they each have 3 rows. They also have cars that are just a front and back of a car w/ a long table and regular chairs. I am not sure how many they hold.

We are a family of five and we sat in a car. Three kids sat in the front--ages 17, 13, 5 and DH and I sat in the back.

You can fit three in a row, especially if one or more are kids. In October, Dsis (average size) sat with my DD-then 7 (very tall) and her DS3 (a roly-poly little guy). They had plenty of room!

I'm so relieved to hear this. I was wondering since I have two teens and a five year old. I didn't want anyone to feel left out.
Thanks.

We'll be a party of 3 and I asked about the seating arrangements, too. It'll be me, ds (10) and dd (8). Most agreed that we would be too crowded to share 1 seat. I'll probably have the kids sit up front and I will sit in the back by myself.

I wish Sci-Fi would have a few wider cars to fit bigger families/parties of 3, 6, or 9.

That said, at first I thought it would be weird to sit in the backseat by myself, seeing the back of my kids' heads instead of being able to have dinner conversation. Then........I realized that this could be a peaceful meal for me! I'll be traveling alone with the kids for a week, and while they eat and watch their Sci-Fi movies, I can have a little bit of "alone" time (such as it is) and relax while they eat.

My ds will LOVE the atmosphere there! I can't wait to give the Sci-Fi a try. :thumbsup2

We ALWAYS eat at Sci Fi each trip, as my nephew LOVES it. It is myself, my sister, and her son/my nephew, age 8, so there are three of us. He sits in the first row with one of us (usually me) and other other adult (usually my sister) gets to sit in the second row alone. I do say GETS as, like Pixiedust 34 just said, it's a nice break.

But with the movies playing constantly, it's not like my nephew and I chat much. Last time he even said, "can I just have some quiet time and watch the show?" He needed a break, too! There's not a lot of chatting going on in the entire place, actually, everyone is watching the show.

I will say when we've been a group of 5 (when the husbands went) we still never sat more than two to the row. But since the OP's children are 6,5 and 2, they shouldn't have a problem in one row. By the time my nephew and myself get in the row, and I put the fannypack, camera bag, etc. in the seat, there's not much room left. And it's not set up good to put your stuff on the floor. You put it in front of you on the floor and you're stepping on it. If you're on the "outside" side and put it on the floor, the server is stepping on it. We've never had a problem getting 3 rows when we're a party of 5.

We ate there as a family of 5 and we just sat at a table. It was still fun and we could chat and see everyone.
