Okay, we have bounced back and forth between 1 room at POR or 2 at a Value.. probably ASMo. Has anyone done 5 in 1 room? Was it awlful? We will just be sleeping there and I am curious about how cramped it is. I have heard bad things about transportation for the All Stars and I am concerned. We stayed at ASMu in 2001 and Pop in 2007.. but I think Pop has its own buses. Any advice would be great!!! :confused3

Our family of 5 stayed at POR in '05 and we loved it! My kids were 9, 7, and almost 4 at the time. No one really wanted to sleep on the trundle bed, not because it was uncomfortable, just because it was so close to the door. We ended up paying my oldest to sleep on it! POR is a beautiful resort! We are staying at POFQ in 3 weeks [YAY!] because my mom is going with us making 2 rooms a necessity, and my kids are all bummed that we aren't staying at POR!

The All music has a family suite which is nice...check out the difference between it and POR for price. My brother and 4 kids stayed there.

We love POR as well!!! (have to throw in that we stayed there 15 years ago for our honeymoon when it was Dixie Landings :goodvibes )

However, back to the point. We stayed there in September with 5 and didin't have any problems. My dc rotated sleeping on the trundle, that is till we figured out which two could sleep together without flopping like fish and waking each other up. There isn't a lot of room but it was not umbearable. I think you'll be fine, especially since two of yours are little. (mine are 12,9 and 6)

my family of 6 stayed in the POR alligator bayou wiht the trundle bed. My youngest was under 3 at the time (Sept. 06). We weren't really cramped. DS 14 slept on the trudle bed and thought it was awesome. The second bathroom and TV could have been nice but we weren't put out at all. We loved the decor and couldn't have been more pleased with the relaxed atmosphere. My DH is hard to convince that any other resort will be as relaxing as the POR. It has real southern charm.

That was our last time to ever be able to fit into a "5 person" room. Wanted to take advantage of the option since we will only be able to do 2 rooms or one large one in the future. We are looking at 2 rooms at the AS Sports for Sept.

Two rooms gives you two bathrooms. The rooms are a bit smaller and no free fridge though.

The 5 of us stayed there in May 07 and weren't cramped at all. DH, me, DD14, DD10, and DD7. They have a nice privacy curtain so somebody could get dressed while someone was showering, etc. Also, we checked out 2 values and also the family suites and they were much more pricey in comparison. You can't go wrong with POR - I promise you'll absolutely love it!:)

ASMU Family suites has 2 bathrooms , 2 TV's and a kitchenette. I think I read its $9 more than 2 value rooms. I really like this option. My family of 5 is staying there in April.

We've done it both ways and decided we like having 2 rooms at a value better. One of the issues for us was that the kids go to bed earlier than we do and the tv kept them up when were at POR. That was solved by having 2 rooms. 2 full bathrooms was also nice when we were getting ready in the mornings. There was also more room to move around with 2 value rooms.

You are correct.

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

-----------------------------------------------------

The Family Suites at All Star Music will sleep up to 6 persons.

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms
-Cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

There's a queen size sofa pullout, a hassock single pull out, a chair single pull out in the living room. There's a double bed in the bedroom. We moved the hassock into the bedroom which accommodated DD, DSIL, and DGD. DH and I stayed in the living room. Very comfy.
