Hi! I am booked in a standard VGF studio with my 2 kids (ages 6+3) plus my sister her 5 yr old.

Will we be totally cramped in a studio? Any tips for sleeping that many people in a studio? Is it better to be on first floor for a sense of having more space?

We are also going to MNSSHP, so excited to tell the kids about that and be able to walk there and back.

Totally cramped? Not at all. Would a villa be nicer? Maybe a little, but not 1.5x or 2x the price.

The studio is our preferred layout while at Disney. We have 3 boys, age 3, 5, 11 and have never felt cramped in any of the studios. The split baths help with everyone getting ready in the mornings. And the beds folding up out of the way during the day really opens up the space.

Do you have a resort studio or a deluxe studio? I assume you likely have a resort studio since there are 4X more of them v. the original deluxe studios.
If a resort studio there’ll be 2 queen size beds & a daybed/sofa in the converted big pine key building rooms - those are almost exactly like GF hotel rooms.
If a deluxe studio there’ll be 1 queen size bed + a Murphy pull down queen size bed + a single pull down under the TV in the original GF villas building.
Here’s a thread about the differences https://www.disboards.com/threads/resort-studio-or-deluxe-studio-at-vgf.3903589/

We've stayed a couple of times in a studio with our family of 5. It's doable for sure, especially if your kids are younger/smaller.

Resort studios are by sq footage about 440 vs less than 400 for the deluxe. Having 2 real queen beds and the extra room may make a difference.

If you have booked a resort studio, you might consider requesting the "plus" or type "D" room, which is a standard view that has a small living room area (Big Pine Key room ending in 14). There are only 4 of these. However, consider that the resort studios do not have a kitchenette -only have a microwave and a beverage cooler (not a mini fridge like the deluxe studios)- and the bathrooms have a different layout from the deluxe studio (which can be more convenient for a party of 5). Both have 2 queen beds (in the deluxe studio, one is a Murphy queen bed) which each sleep 2 and one single sleeper (which is more comfortable for a small child than an adult).
