Is there any way to pull off a family of 5 at Coronado Springs resort? The reviews for Caribbean Beach are so-so and we would prefer to stay at CS. I was thinking of just bringing a toddler blowup mattress along with us. Has anyone successfully done this?

Unless one is a baby, no. It's not about sleeping arrangements/blow-up mattress. It's about occupancy limits for fire/building codes.

They have Suites for 6 that would work if your youngest is not under three.

Are the 5 guests two adults and three children? If so how old are they?

The suites are more than double the price of a regular room though. You'd actually save money by getting two rooms!

CBR is all done now and the rooms are refurbished. They look great. New paint inside and out, queen beds, and a pull out/fold out to sleep a 5th person. You may be surprised by the new look CBR.

So any room on the website that lists queen beds were recently renovated?

I just looked, and it looks like CBR finally updated the website to say Queens. It's been Doubles while they were renovated and was to be fully complete in May. YES, the queen rooms are all the recently renovated rooms.

The Pirate rooms are double beds and only sleep 4.

Yup. Used to be double and King rooms, now all are queen, and King as an upgrade, but King sleeps only 2. The rooms are very nice.

Thanks for all the useful info. Is there a particular building that's better to stay at CBR or are they all pretty much the same?

As far as the rooms, they are all the same except for Trinidad South that has the Pirate Themed rooms, but they don't sleep 5. Our favorite is Jamaica 45 with Aruba 51 right behind it. Come check out the CBR FAQ Thread, especially the first 2 pages. Those will probably answer any question you could have.

Would your children all fit in the same bed? They are Queen size. We have done that before.
It doesn't matter if their children would fit into one bed. The room occupancy limit in a regular CSR room is 4 people (3 years or older). You aren't allowed to sneak extra people into the rooms. Its a fire code issue, and its taken seriously. If you are caught you would be given the option of getting an extra room, or being evicted from the resort. It might be possible to sneak in extra guests at some non Disney hotels, but its not smart to try it at a Disney resort.

It was my understanding that not all rooms were made to accommodate 5. Is that correct? If so, you need to be very sure you're up front and state that you need a room for 5. If you try to sneak an extra into the room, in addition to what's listed above, there will be issues with tickets, FPs, EMHs, etc.

As already stated, CBR rooms are newly refurbished, and some of the rooms have a murphy bed that sleep 5. The new rooms are so nice! We stayed in one in August. Its a gorgeous! it has a tropical feel to it. We stayed in Jamaica 45 and it was a great location, right across the bridge. Short walk to the main building. The kids will love the pool. CBR is the only moderate with a zero entry pool. Perfect for your 3 year olds!

I didn't realize that it was an occupancy issue and would never suggest anyone "sneak" an extra guest in a room nor do I see how that would be possible. I was just trying to help!!!!
