Can anyone share comments on doing the Family Magic Tour with a 4 year old? Too young or just right?

My understanding is that they have the kids do different games and activities while roaming the park on the adventure. Our son tends to be a little on the shy side. I'm a bit worried that he might not want to play along if we happen to be the only family in our tour. If there are other kids, chances are he'll join right in.

We're thinking about this for a trip next May which will be our family plus Grandma. I know that his grandmother would get a kick out watching him do the tour (as would we), but don't want to book if others have had mediocre results with kiddies that age.

TIA.

Our DS was four last December when we did this tour and he loved it!! He is very shy also but when he is around other kids he opens up. The tour is alot of fun for the whole family!!! Without a doubt you should do it!

You know your son best - we just did this last week - my 6 yr old had fun - my 3 yr old wanted nothing to do with it - ended up riding in a stroller that another guest had brought for her child.

It's a scavenger hunt, so they are reading a map and trying to figure out where to go next. They have to do silly things during their trip - it's a lot of fun, but if you have a child who ends up not wanting to participate, it's not so much fun.

I can't see my 3 yr old wanting to do it in another year even - it's just his personality - he's not going to act goofy around a bunch of strangers. My 6 yr old - a true Drama Queen - she was in her element.

So, if your child will usually join in activities with other children around, birthday parties, parks, etc. - he'll probably like it. It is fun though - luckily, it wasn't DH's thing either - so me and DD had a blast and just let DH and DS drag behind.

My son turned 4 a few days before we did the Family Magic Tour and he loved it.

DS was 4 when we did tour in July and at first, he didn't really understand what was going on - short attention span! About a quarter through, he got it and was really excited about using the map and finding clues. And once we met up with our surprise at the end, DS talked character's ears off! And usually a very shy kid. Definitely worth doing!::yes::

DD4 did it and loved it. She got to hold the bag of Pixie Dust which made her feel really special and held Wendy's hand and sat by her at Mickey's Philharmagic. She had to wear her hair in a pony tail like Wendy's for the rest of the week.
