Family, Friends, & Celebrities- A MAGICAL Birthday TR!!! *UPDATE*8/27! Final thoughts

So when you get back to the states, you should paint your DDs rooms pink.. just for laughs. :lmao:

Umm... not going to happen. The new house is getting reds, golds and accents of sages, black and cream.

I never understood why my DW (and I mean DARLING..) never dresses Juliana in any Disney clothes in Disney? I mean Juliana has a million Disney outfits but they never make it into the suitcase.:confused3:confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2:
How old is your son??
I think deep down her favorite ride is the teacups.. although she probably wouldn't admit that.

Hmmm, that is funny that she has all those Disney outfits that don't make it in the Disney suitcase. I always look for ANYTHING Disney we have and make sure it goes. My son is almost six now, so DH wants no "baby-ish" stuff (or what HE considers to be babyish). That means that I have to restrain myself from buying too many character shirts for everyday wear, but they always look right at home at Disney! :goodvibes

Big "Funder" Mountain Railroad is my DS's favorite ride (right now).

We ate lunch over near Pooh's Playful spot. It felt good to sit down and relax for a few minutes. After we finished up eating we had a few more 'must do's' in Fantasyland. We had to ride on Cinderella's Carousel! This seemed like a safe ride after eating.

The girls.

DSC08017.jpg

All three kids loved the carousel.

We made our way off and Juliana spotted the sword in the stone. She tried with all her might to pull it out. No luck.

DSC08024.jpg

It was Alex's turn. He used all his muscles and.....no dice.

DSC08026.jpg

OK maybe Victoria would have some luck.... She pulled and pulled and then.. she just posed for a picture.

DSC08027.jpg

I've never seen anyone pull the sword from the stone. I don't even know if it is possible? :confused3:confused3

I looked over to Snow White's scary tales- there was a 20 minute wait. I asked Mel if she thought we should try it. We have never been on this ride before. There was a general consensus to skip this one for now and to check out Philharmagic. While in line I got a text from Barry.

Barry: 1:54 Just ate. On the train to Toontown
Me: 2:00 OK.. we are at philharmagic.. yes still in fantasyland.. LOL.. I can meet you in toontown in 15-20 min
Barry: 2:01 Cool. Just leaving frontierland station
Barry: 2:13 Going in to fairies. Will txt when out.
Me: 2:14 OK

I did have a chance to snap a few pics of some HMs.

Look closely!

DSC08028.jpg

After a short wait, which included being packed into the waiting area like a sardine, we were in the theatre. I'm not sure what happened but Mel ended up in the row behind us and there was no way she was going to get into the row with the rest of us. I felt bad that she had to sit by herself. The kids were excited with their 3D glasses on!

DSC08030.jpg

Some how Alex ended up sitting on my lap for the show. There were a few loud parts that startled him, but he did great. During the show Juliana was reaching out trying to touch the 3D jewels coming at her. Everyone liked the show.

I didn't hear back from Barry and we HAD to see the parade so we headed over to Liberty Square to find a good spot for the parade. We found a spot then Dave & I ran over to get FPs for Jungle Cruise. We were lucky to get a return time before our dinner ADR at CP.

We made it back to the girls (and Alex) pretty quickly. While we were waiting, I was watching the CMs making people stay behind the ropes and keeping people out of the walkways. While a CM was walking in front of us, a seagull flew over her and ummmm pooped on her shoulder and arm. :scared1: I felt bad for her and she immediately made a quick escape. I asked every one if they saw it but they missed it. Just as well.. it wasn't as bad as the boogie eater but it was still pretty bad.

Shortly after the pre-parade started.

DSC08031.jpg

The muppets went by and there was no sign of the parade. After 10 minutes a couple standing next to us asked if that was the parade. I had to laugh and told them is should be here any minute. It took another 10 minutes or so for us to see the parade coming. The kids were getting excited!

DSC08032.jpg

The MAN!!! .. umm I mean the MOUSE!!!!!

These ladies came right up to us!

Juliana's favorite.

DSC08045.jpg

It was nice to be able to stay in one spot for a little while and relax. The kids enjoyed the parade. We had just over an hour before we had to be at Crystal Palace for our 5pm ADR. We walked over to Adventureland and got in the FP line for Jungle Cruise.

I sent a text to Barry.

Tim 3:41 We are in adventureland.. Have ADR at CP @5
Barry 3:48 IASM, PP, SM. Maybe we'll just have a meet up via txt lol. Let me know when you are done eating.
Tim: 3:50 OK
Barry: 4:01 Next time we leave the wife and kids at home!
Tim: 4:04 Sounds like a plan! LOL

We got to sit right in front of the boat and had a very funny cruise director. I think Disney needs to fix those intercoms they speak into. It was hard to hear what he was saying 1/2 of the time. (I feel like I've written this before)

We hit Aladdin's Carpets.

We had 30 minutes till we had to be at CP. I've been asking Juliana for weeks before the trip if she was going to go on Pirates of the Caribbean with me. She kept saying yes. Well, it was the moment of truth. I told her we had just enough time to ride Pirates before dinner if she wanted to. The answer was YES!!!! OK 1 down! Dave asked Victoria and she wanted to go too!!!! So it was the 4 of us heading over to PotC. Branda and Mel hung back with Alex.

HM alert!

DSC08055.jpg

I think the girls were a little nervous waiting in line. We made it to the boat and got a front seat. We talked with the girls and pointed out certain details of the ride to them and sang the 'Yo Ho' song and they were fine! I was so proud of Juliana.. and Victoria too!

We met up with the wives (and Alex) and walked over to check in to our 1st character meal of the trip.. Crystal Palace!

Up next... Dinner with Character and berry's.. or was it Barry?

The muppets went by and there was no sign of the parade.
The biggest thing I missed during our trip was seeing the Muppets. Hopefully they'll still be there in December.

Nice Job, Juliana! :thumbsup2

Hmm...it appears another update has come and gone with no celebrity guest. I'm starting to feel like you're stringing us along here, Tim. :sad2: :lmao:

I've never seen anyone pull the sword from the stone. I don't even know if it is possible? :confused3:confused3

I've been enjoying following along with your TR so far. I don't mean to hijack your report, but here are some pics from when my son was picked to be Temporary Ruler of the Realm in the Sword in the Stone ceremony at MK many years ago. (He's 17 now!) It was really funny because they picked a random, twenty-something-year-old guy to pull it out first, and it wouldn't budge. Then Merlin picked my son and made the college kid his Official Bodyguard. It was especially great because my son was a HUGE Disney fan and has H-F Autism. It made his day even more magical, and he got a certificate and medal to wear for the day!

There USED to be a little show where Merlin came out and some musicians, and they would pick someone from the crowd to try and then he or she was crowned king or queen of the realm if they could pull it out. Sometimes it was one or two kids before it would magically start rising up - never all the way, but several inches or so. It was cute. Now it just serves as a nice photo op. But budget cuts got in the way after the drop off in travel post-9/11. I can't say for certain when it was cut at WDW, but it was about 2003 when that little "extra" was cut from the daily schedule at DL.

I looked over to Snow White's scary tales- there was a 20 minute wait. I asked Mel if she thought we should try it. We have never been on this ride before. There was a general consensus to skip this one for now and to check out Philharmagic. While in line I got a text from Barry.

Love, love, love Philharmagic!

Poor lady. I've often wondered if that would ever happen to me at a Disney park - but so far so good. It did happen to me once in like the 3rd grade while eating my lunch out on the playground... needless to say that lunch was never finished!! :rotfl:

Shortly after the pre-parade started.

These ladies came right up to us!

I love the step-sisters. They can be so hysterical. Have you been to Cindy's meal at 1900 Park Faire at the GF yet? If not - you've got to try it. I had such a blast there. We all did really, even though my boys would say otherwise. DD was very much into Cindy at that time (3 yrs ago) and took her Baby Cindy doll with here everywhere. She had it on the table, and when Drusilla came up, with her crinkled up nose, she picked up the doll with two fingers and the rest extended like she was drinking from a tea cup or something, and very indignantly said... "ooh a maid doll"

2007-0915-64.jpg

And Anastasia was just such a hoot too... you could literally hear her from just about anywhere in the dining room. She was so obnoxious, but such fun. In our pic she was trying to raise leg nearly can-can style. Then at the
table next to us she jumped up into the dad's arms for their picture... I was laughing so hard I was in tears. What fun that was.

That's what I love about my solo trips! Seriously. Family trips are great - but going solo is so choice. Gotta love a job that takes you near the Disney parks and you can swing a day (or two, or three) to pay a quick visit.

We had 30 minutes till we had to be at CP. I've been asking Juliana for weeks before the trip if she was going to go on Pirates of the Caribbean with me. She kept saying yes. Alright Juliana!! & Victoria too!!

Another nice update! Great pics. Can't wait to see more texts between you two...

I LOVE your TR! It is so detailed and fun. Good job!!!! Had to LOL at the person who thought that the muppets coming down WAS the parade. :lmao: )Oh, and I have a HUGE FEAR of having a bird poop on me. That's why I won't go to the bird show in AK. LOL!)

Looking forward to CP. :-)

Wow still no meet with Barry...you guys needed to pick a spot and just meet there :rotfl:

If you don't mind can you do me a huge favor? Ask Melody where she got that dress she's wearing is from? It's so cute and it will be great to have when its 9 millions degrees in WDW in July! I'd appreciate it! :thumbsup2

Philharmagic is one of my faves, I love to watch all the little ones try and grab the jewels and things flying at them.

Can't wait to hear about CP!

I didn't realize that Mark was going to have surgery too. Guess his back still isn't going too well.

No, he is miserable. Surgery isn't until July 14 (he wants to ump the baseball season first...have to have that vacation money).

Thanks Kat. I tried. ;)

Maybe I can have people pay me to be their personal WDW guide?? You want to fly me down to Florida so I can show you around??????? :lmao::lmao:

Well you are very brave and courageous for beating that horrible disease. I'd wear pink for you any day. ::yes::princess:

(not dressed as a princess though.. that was the only pink smilie I could find :rotfl2:)

You can fly down and be our guide. :)

Thank you...that is very sweet of you to offer to wear pink for me every day.

This is one of my favorite pictures so far--I love it.

:dance3::woohoo::dance3::woohoo: Way to go, Juliana for riding Pirates of the Caribbean. Mr. Schultz would be so proud of you -- it is favorite ride (after Dumbo, of course) and he will challenge you to a sword fight now if we are ever lucky enough to be there the same time as you. :)

great up date tim!!:lmao: i like your text's back and forth. were going to try to get about eight guys together in one place in december?:lmao:

Sorry about not responding...

I don't remember ever liking pink. It was purple for me when I was younger, which evolved into lilac, lavender and periwinkle as an adult. :snooty: But once my girls came along I definitely bought more pink than ever before. :confused3
Well it is all about the kids, right?;) :lmao:

Juliana is starting to help pick out her own clothes while shopping, and she mostly picks out pink.

Major Celebrity *salute*

(running gag from "How I Met Your Mother")
:welcome:

Unfortunately I don't watch that show. There still is a Major Celebrity coming soon and I have saluted him!!! :worship::worship::lmao: And he also had a drink with us!!!!!!

Umm... not going to happen. The new house is getting reds, golds and accents of sages, black and cream.
Aww too bad!

Although those colors do sound great!:thumbsup2

Hmmm, that is funny that she has all those Disney outfits that don't make it in the Disney suitcase. I always look for ANYTHING Disney we have and make sure it goes. I don't pack Juliana. I leave that up to the boss!! ;)

I guess she figures when you are surrounded by Disney you don't have to 'wear' Disney. :confused3 (I wear my Disney shirts though!)

Big "Funder" Mountain Railroad is my DS's favorite ride (right now).
LOL I love the pronunciation! :goodvibes

Tim! You've left me hanging again to find out if you meet up with Barry or not! :snooty:

How disappointed were you that no one else saw the bird poop on the CM? If I saw something like that, I'd so want to be able to laugh and share it with someone else!

Are you ever going to meet up with Barry?!

You know PhilharMagic is a favorite of mine. It's so cute seeing the kids reach out for the jewels and things. :goodvibes

I haven't seen them do the Sword in the Stone in awhile!

It IS possible! But you need a little "inside" help.
Well I am near Jersey and NY... what kind of inside help do I need? :lmao::lmao:

Don't let them see this! :lmao:
I'm sure I set myself up to get yelled at when my DW reads that post!:lmao::lmao:

The biggest thing I missed during our trip was seeing the Muppets. Hopefully they'll still be there in December.
You know how Disney is.. they will be onto the next thing by then.

Nice Job, Juliana! :thumbsup2
I was (and still am) so happy she did that!!

Hmm...it appears another update has come and gone with no celebrity guest. I'm starting to feel like you're stringing us along here, Tim. :sad2: :lmao:
Which celebrity are you waiting for? :confused3

You might know one... but is it the MAJOR one?

Hey fellow CTian!!! I'm on the Yankees side of the state.. although very very close to the Red Sox side. ;)

Thanks for posting those pics of your son!!! I never knew about the ceremony. What are the chances he gets picked? Just another great Disney moment! pixiedust: I'm sure it made his day.. he probably talked about that for a while! :goodvibes

I'm sure there were many extras that were cut and never returned. Did you see the pics that were posted right before your post? They are exactly what you were talking about. Really cool!

Love, love, love Philharmagic!
It is a great show!

Poor lady. I've often wondered if that would ever happen to me at a Disney park - but so far so good. It did happen to me once in like the 3rd grade while eating my lunch out on the playground... needless to say that lunch was never finished!! :rotfl:
She didn't look very happy.. isn't that supposed to be good luck? That is some luck I don't want to be 'showered' with! :sad2:

I don't think I would of finished lunch either. :duck:

I love the step-sisters. They can be so hysterical. Have you been to Cindy's meal at 1900 Park Faire at the GF yet? If not - you've got to try it. I had such a blast there. We have been to PF and actually went this trip too.:rolleyes1 We love it there and the stepsisters could possibly be the best part! I don't want to ruin anything but let's just say the sisters we at the top of their game!

Juliana has the same Cindy doll! princess:

You said this was from 3 years ago?? I swear we had the same Drizella!

And Anastasia was just such a hoot too... you could literally hear her from just about anywhere in the dining room. She was so obnoxious, but such fun. In our pic she was trying to raise leg nearly can-can style. Then at the

2007-0915-58.jpg

That is really funny! :lmao:

I took this from my 'characters' TR..

The stepsisters were so funny. They told Juliana she looked so much better in her dress than Cinderella ever did. They were bickering with each other across two tables. The stepmother yelled at them and told them to stop it or they were going to go to 'time-out' Juliana got a kick out of that.

That's what I love about my solo trips! Seriously. Family trips are great - but going solo is so choice. Gotta love a job that takes you near the Disney parks and you can swing a day (or two, or three) to pay a quick visit.
Sounds like heaven! Maybe I'll retire in Florida and the family can come visit us and take us old timers to Disney.

Another nice update! Great pics. Can't wait to see more texts between you two...

Thanks. There are only a few more texts to go...

I never know if I am writing a bunch of non-sense or if people are interested in every step of the day. :lmao:

We have never done Flights of Wonder either. I'm not sure Melody would want birds flying up to her either! LOL

Wow still no meet with Barry...you guys needed to pick a spot and just meet there :rotfl:

I know.. tell me about it!

If you don't mind can you do me a huge favor? Ask Melody where she got that dress she's wearing is from? It's so cute and it will be great to have when its 9 millions degrees in WDW in July! I'd appreciate it! :thumbsup2

I'm on the phone with her now! LOL She told me she got it from Express last summer. She said she saw a very similar one in the newest VS catalogue.

Philharmagic is one of my faves, I love to watch all the little ones try and grab the jewels and things flying at them.
SHHHHH.... I try to grab them too! ;)

Can't wait to hear about CP!
Maybe tonight. :confused3
