Family, Friends, & Celebrities- A MAGICAL Birthday TR!!! *UPDATE*8/27! Final thoughts

This team is so frustrating! Bases loaded - 3 to 1 lead at bottom of tenth. UGH I think you guys may have this one!!:headache:

yep... you won! :headache: and I missed American Idol for this. lol

Oh I can wait on the house vs onsite.... I am so interested in what you think though!!!

Great updates. Looks like a funfilled 1st day

You are so sweet!

Ok, I have to admit it completely cracks me up that I would be a "celebrity" - I was so hoping for Chuck Norris myself! :rotfl:

It was a HALF marathon. I don't want anyone to think I can actually walk 26 miles! 13.1 was PLENTY!

It was so great meeting you guys! Juliana was precious and Mel is so kind to allow us to meet up in the World! I am sure it gets old meeting all of these people she has never met. :rotfl2:

Can't wait for more. popcorn::

Thanks!

Yeah, definitely NOT Chuck Norris. :) Maybe the exact opposite.

Did you walk it? Are you allowed to? I guess what I am asking is can you sign up as a walker, because I hate running, but would love to walk it someday. Where do you find the info out at.

First off - GREAT pictures! :thumbsup2
Thanks!!!
Do you think we have time to go to the bathroom before the next show? We can't you dummy, we're bolted to the floor! :rotfl: I love them too!
Another great line!!! Maybe they could do a show with just them... that would be great! :lmao:
Oh yeah, we love LMA. Great show. We've seen it like 5 or 6 times, and enjoy it each time. Though it was pretty funny - when we got home from this last trip with my folks in Jan - the boys put in the DVD from when we videoed it the very first time...and DW turns to me and says, "that's the same lady!" The same "assistant director" lady has hosted it since it debuted in 2005.
Wow... I guess she has job security. I was impressed how good it was. I think Juliana would like to see it next time.
Did I already say I love LMA? I did? Oh well, here it is again. I love LMA. Great pics. :)
LOL :lmao:
Nice shots of Mr. Potato Head & Boo.
I really have to download the video of MPH winking at the kids. It is awesome! LOL
Cool your celebrities! That's awesome. Yay for Maroo and all she does. What an awesome and special role she has.
I have more celebrities.. including a MAJOR.. HUGE celebrity coming up in my MK update!!!!!

Maroo is awesome! :hippie:

Great show. Though if Alex is like my boys in a few years... he won't like it so much then. But right now - yeah baby, that's good stuff. Let me just say my boys DO do stuff with and for their younger sister, but they don't always want to. It's fun trying to mix teen/pre-teen and 6 yo well and achieve a happy, healthy balance.
Maybe someday I'll have deal with a teen & a youngin too.. :rolleyes1

As you know, finding stuff that is entertaining and interesting for a 2 1/2 yr old boy is a challenge in Disney when there are 3yr old girls involved. :)

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Wow, hard to believe he'd never been on one before, but hey, that's great that he got to experience such a good one first.
Now all the other will be compared to her..ummm I mean it!

DING, DING, DING! We have a winner! You have finally shown something in your report (and the first of all the other DDC guys' reports) that I was not aware of at WDW. I love it! You win the prize Tim! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :rotfl: In all of my various visits, research and website perusal - I have never seen or read anything about these little things. Great job! :woohoo:

WOW.. I taught you something. That is amazing!! :woohoo:From what I understand there either is or there is going to be a few more 'stops' like that in DHS. I don't know of any others yet but I think they told me 5 in total.

Now I'm going to have to make sure to go over there and see that we do that on our next visit... not for the kids, but for ME. I want one of those little records for my office shelves. All kinds of treasures (both Disney and not Disney), things collected on various trips and excursions here and there end up there - both things I've acquired myself, and those toys that my boys have "grown out of" (yet get played with when they come to visit dad at work). I have more stuff, but only 3 of the shelves are Disney related, so I rotate stuff around, and off the shelf and into/out of boxes too so that there's always something new and different to look at.

That is an awesome collection. I love it! I think I need to start collecting something Disney... but what? :confused3:confused3

What's up with the COLTS beer can? Is it empty or full?

To Tim: :worship::worship::worship: anyone who can "inform" stopher about anything at the parks deserves a little :worship::worship::worship:
Thank you.. thank you!! I didn't know this was going to be a big deal. Who knows... maybe there will be something else I can teach him! :lmao::lmao:

I don't take these early season games too seriously. I hate that the Yanks & Sox are playing already. 3 weeks in is a good time. :thumbsup2

it was a great series though.. a lot of drama! Glad it is back!

Oh I can wait on the house vs onsite.... I am so interested in what you think though!!!
I kinda answered this a few pages ago... Let me find it for ya! :thumbsup2

It was! We had a blast!

I can kinda answer....

Maroo walked it (i think?)- but you have to make it in a certain time or you get swept(taken off the course). I think it is something like 16 minute miles.

I know there is a website about it... not sure what it is though.:confused3

Are you putting up another post right now?? Ready to WOW your Peeps again?? Pretty impressive work there yesterday... ;)

I can't. I'm about to goto bed. LOL:rolleyes1

Mel & I took all our March '09 Disney pictures that were in envelopes and put them into a nice photo album my sister got us for Christmas. Yea I know.. better late than never! We have so many more pics to print out it is ridiculous. :sad2:

Well .... enjoy your sleep! ;)

Ugh!! I have years of pictures sitting in boxes that I haven't been able to scrap yet- being gone takes a toll on good intentions. Someday.. someday.

That parade looks fun to me. Lots of newer characters that the kids will know. Why don't other people like it? :confused3 You just helped me figure out one of my split days. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Well for lack of a better term.. those are ghetto pics. Took them off the TV with my camera. :lmao::lmao:

OH WHY.. what happened to you?

My redneck photos never turn out anywhere near as good as that one.

There is just an incredibly scared look on my face during take off. Not really scared just trying not to explode from the pressure. :rotfl:

Maybe someday I'll have deal with a teen & a youngin too.. :rolleyes1

That would be nice. I hope so.

:confused3 I try, but I do readily admit that while I know a ton, I don't know everything. I'll save expanding on that for another time, but there are still a few things at WDW that I haven't experienced ;) That's just part of the pull to go back again...

That is an awesome collection. I love it! I think I need to start collecting something Disney... but what? :confused3:confused3

It is kind of fun having this stuff to look at each day I'm in my office. The orientation of my desk is such that I sit facing it, so it's a nice prospect all day long. What you saw are just the upper shelves. There's a lower shelf still that has family pics from various character meals, Jedi Mickey, a flower lei from the luau, an AKV mug and some misc. resort stuff from both coasts. Mostly just trinkets and junk picked up along the way through years of Disney trips. One mug, with Mickey on it in the center-ish of the picture I bought at Disneyland when I was like 10... that's about when it all began. Every trip I'm come home with something - which was at least once a month! My dad thought I was nuts. I think he still does... So it was kind of a natural for me to go off and get a job there in high school. And that was great, because then I got a discount on my stuff habit!! :rotfl: Let's just say my wife was more than happy to "share the love" when I first started taking stuff out of the house and into my office. And it sure makes for a fun place for the kids to visit - as well as passes the time once in a while when I'm bored.

LOVE this bookshelf...ok EXCEPT for the Colts can (Go SAINTS!)

Thank you!

What's up with the COLTS beer can? Is it empty or full?

Ok - the COLTS can is actually not a beer can, but rather a Coke can. It's from 2006 when the Colts won the Super Bowl, and yes, it's empty. Our local distributor put out these commemorative issue cans like the week after they won. Since they're the hometown favorite, I had to get one. This year, sure I was rooting for the Colts, but was very happy for the Saints too.

I think the overall consensus is people would rather have a 'regular' parade. This parade stops and lets people get involved. The kids really loved it. Parade at 3!!!!! :goodvibes

Let's not get carried away here, Tim. :sad2:
:rotfl:
Ya I know... I should just quit while I'm ahead!

Thanks for joining!!!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

It's fun having a camera strapped to you when you are going upside down 5 times!!!! LOL

So... ummmm. you have the pic? popcorn::

That is the part that makes WDW so appealing!! You really cannot see everything. I tried to explain that to our friends before we left for the trip... now they understand what I was trying to tell them.

You've got a huge head start on me!

You really do have some great stuff on there!!

Hey there!:wave2: I'm back and all caught up!

Love the hot air balloons - what a sight to wake up to.

Sounds like the kids all did great at DHS - that's a long day for little ones with no break. I found that our kids enjoyed DHS when they were younger (and still into Playhouse Disney, etc), but now that they are 6 and 9, it doesn't hold as much interest for them. I'm sure that will change when and if they ever get into thrill rides - but that could be years. For now, its Toy Story and Fantasmic that keeps us coming back. I do love the Little Mermaid show - I hope you'll be able to see that next time.

One mug, with Mickey on it in the center-ish of the picture I bought at Disneyland when I was like 10...

Ok - so I've got to correct myself on this statement. When I look up from my desk I see it, but then when I looked back at this picture it's not there. Too funny. I took this picture several months back to show someone else and didn't realize what I was referencing wasn't even in the picture I shared with you. D'oh! Oh well. It is a neat old mug. Perhaps sometime I'll get around to showing you.

In fact, as I sit here, I also see that several things currently displayed aren't in the picture... since I rearranged it a month or so ago.

  • my Star Speeder 3000
  • my golf balls from Fantasia Gardens (one with Stitch on it and the other with Donald aren't in the picture
  • new magnets from the Grand Cal and the Wilderness Lodge
  • a plush Thumper
  • my golden Mickey ears from DL's 50th celebration
  • Happy Anniversary buttons from last year at DL and this year at WDW
  • shampoo and conditioner bottles from the Grand Californian and the Paradise Pier hotels
  • a cute little pewter Viking Mickey from the Norway pavilion
  • and some newish DVC promotional trinkets

I'm basically a packrat when it comes to my Disney stuff. If it's too large to go inside a scrapbook or photo album, it goes into a box for safe-keeping until it someday emerges again on our shelves at home or in my office.

That is the part that makes WDW so appealing!! You really cannot see everything. I tried to explain that to our friends before we left for the trip... now they understand what I was trying to tell them.

Amen to that. We were telling my DW's folks exactly that same thing when we got back from our anniversary trip. Some things we haven't done since our honeymoon 16 years ago. Others we have done multiple times and it's time for a break. A few things remain completely undone. One thing I really wanted to do when we were just there was the Characters in Flight balloon at DTD...but darn that rain, rain, rain.... oh well. There's always another time. :)
