Family Friendly Vegas hotel (just passing through)

We are going to San Diego/DL in April and need a hotel near the Vegas area for a late night arrival. It doesn't have to be a casino or anything like that ( we will be doing that stuff on the way home). I want something we can easily get into and out of since it is just a stop over to sleep. It also doesn't have to be in Vegas just near there...because it breaks the drive very well. All I want is clean and safe and hopefully not too expensive. Thanks for any help!!!!!

if you just want something "on the way" then I suggest right on the 15 freeway near Stateline are three decent hotels....Buffalo Bills (has the world's longest rollercoaster), Primadonna and Whiskey Petes. Pick one....there's a monorail that will take you from one side to the other. Inexpensive rooms. Fairly modern.

I agree with missmulan. One of the stateline hotels would be the easiest. Anywhere on the strip can be a nightmare to get to and out of. There is one hotel on the north end of that I didn't have trouble getting too. Union station I think the name was. I didn't stay there, was just meeting up with someone for breakfast. Seemed nice enough though. And on the more southern end there is one place off the strip that was clean and nice, no casino though, Hampton Inn. It was off tropicana and not too much trouble to get to if I remember correctly. And they had a complimentary continental breakfast. Ther is a Fairfield Inn, Marriot Residence Inn and a Holiday Inn Express all three together on Russel and Industrial rode.
There is also a new Hearthside suites on Windmill and a Hilton Suites.
All these locatons are very close to the Freeway.
