Family Comedy Shows

My DS(12) is really into stand-up comedy. We would love to be able to take him to a couple shows during our Dec. trip. There has been several not so nice discussions on taking preteens/teens to the Comedy Warehouse, and Adventurer's Club. I'm looking for alternatives. We are going to the Outta Control Magic Show. Anyone have any other suggestions? TIA

Although not you true stand up comedy I'd suggest Sleuth Mystery Dinner. It is family oriented and very funny. We generally go at least once a year and have seen 6 of the plays. Meal is great also. www.sleuths.com

The one time we went to Adventurer's Club, we didn't see anything going on. I guess we timed it wrong. From our experience, there was nothing bad about it, but like I said we obviously didn't get the whole experience.

We have been to the Comedy Warehouse twice, w/o our DS, and I didn't think there was anything inappropriate for a pre-teen/teen. It was PG at most. We were thinking of staying away, because there's so many on these boards who get so nasty at the mention of kids anywhere near PI. They're mostly complaining about the new open policy, but neglect to mention or realize that PI was never restricted to 18 & older. We just don't like controversy, but have decided to go ahead and take our DS(12) to one of the early shows, and enjoy our evening.

If you've got car, try heading to downtown Orlando - there's a great improv comedy theatre there called SAK Theatre. They're very mindful of young audience members.
