Family Cast Member discounts

Hi guys... my future father-in-law works for Disney and whenever we go down we get the discounts at shops and get in free to the parks with the cast member passes he gets... can we get any kind of discount on wedding stuff with his discount? Thanks. I love this board!!! You're all so helpful and making my life a whole lot less stressful with so many of my questions being answered!!

The short answer is yes, but not on everything. The best thing to do is to contact the FTW dept, tell them you are interested in planning a Disney wedding and that your FFIL is a Cast Member and you wanted to get the details on how the discounts work. It's actually prety complicated how the discounts work, so they can explain best. Also, everything changes from year to year, so it's bets to get the word right from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

My boyfriend is a cast member and we asked about it when we went to meet with a planner August 2004. I have no idea how a father in law would work, but I know that the only wedding item that cast members get a discount on is the food. They get 10% off of all the food.

You could have your FIL "pay" for all of the big meals and get 20% off. Just give him your card or whoever's card who is going to pay for the meals out in the park (I'm thinking BIG dinners, like a rehersal or something). You can also have him book hotels for some of the guest for 50% off (That's what we are going to do with my boyfriend's discount).
One other cool thing is that your fil can get 50% off on the Hoop Dee Doo. We went with 10 people and paid $250 last summer and it was so much fun. The bigger the group, the more fun you have. I have no idea what the limit would be on how many he can take, but I cant imagine there being a problem.
