Families of 5 I need some help!

Thanks! that is just what I want to hear!!

I am super excited to stay here now my only fear is that I won't be able to get it!

All three of those are different from the GFV studio. OKW is the largest studio. BWV and SSR both have smaller bathrooms and kitchenettes.

We're also a family of 5, though my kids are a bit older than yours.

What works well for us is a Deluxe room with a day bed. My son, who is MUCH taller than I am, fits fine on the daybed. The rooms at the Poly and the Beach Club have been large enough for us for a week.

It's so sad how the choices for a family of 5 are limited. You either can stay in a Value, get a suite or get 2 rooms. Nothing in between. I am dreading going back in a few years when our 3rd is older (she is 3 months now).

A few other options:
- A Murphy Bed room at POR. It doesn't work for us; my son is way too tall for that Murphy Bed. But it should work for you, and it's the cheapest of all the options.

- A cabin at Fort Wilderness. So NOT my style. But it works for some.

- A Deluxe room. With the exception of Animal Kingdom and Wilderness Lodges, the rest of the Deluxes have a daybed that will fit an adult. The cheapest is usually a Garden wing room at the Comtemporary, followed by the Beach Club, Yacht Club and Boardwallk. Then it's the Poly and Grand Floridian.

I agree-- I would love to see more options.

Also, just to put it out there: last year, before I got a PIN from Disney, I had a Deluxe Alcove room booked at the Dolphin. It had 2 Queen (I think) beds and a pull out sofa, so it slept 6. Using the teacher discount, it priced out to about the same price as a Disney Moderate.

You have to call to ask about it, there's not much on the website. But it's a viable alternative for families with more than 2 kids.

We're staying in a WL Deluxe CL room that is bigger than a standard room. It has 2 Queen beds in one room & an extra TV & then a sitting area with a couch that pulls out (looks like enough room for pack & play. They sleep 6 & they're 500 sq ft. You can take the boat straight to MK or to CR & then catch the monorail there.
Just wanted to give you another option if the GFV doesn't work out.
The GFV Studio does look a little bigger than some. The studio @ BC is small!

I think OP needs MK access or offsite. Here's what I would suggest:

1. Room at Contemporary. OP, why only Garden Wing as your option? Is it the deluxe room that you're looking at? That does have a lot of room but I think the Contemporary regular room was very spacious.

2. VWL studio or WL room. Monorail access is great, but boat access is usually faster and less crowded and you're still at the MK area.

3. Fort Wilderness cabin. Same as VWL - boat access is great and runs every 20 minutes. At WL and FW, you can take a boat over to the Contemporary and walk up to the monorail for that access too. The cabin will provide a separate room with a door for the baby to nap and the Fort has a ton of activities for the other two while the baby sleeps. Quiet, convenient and relaxing.

Thanks everyone....we ruled out WL as no one liked the look of the resort....we had planned to book the poly standard room as we stayed there this year and found the room spacious enough for all of us. however, with the construction looming we decided not to :(

I was looking at garden wing to save money but now my DH said he doesn't like the look of the CR at all because he thinks it looks too plain and boring and like any other hotel.

so fingers crossed we get VGF, the poly puts off construction or we win the lottery!!! LOL

Best of Luck finding a solution.
I personally found that GF had the biggest standard room of the Deluxe's except for CR.
it sounds crazy, but don't judge a book by its cover. The 1st time we ever stayed @ the Poly, I swore it reminded me of the Hawaii Brady Bunch episode, but we turned out loving it.
Each resort has something special & unique. Staying in different resorts or occas. splitting your stay really helps to have the ability to make choices for your next trip.
Let something surprise you..don't judge a book by its cover. Lol..we also stayed @ the CR just for a night Andy thought I would hate it, but it was incredibly spacious!
