We sail this Saturday and we still haven't decided what to do in Falmouth. Just two adults, we are fairly adventurous but haven't decided on anything yet.

Thanks for any advice. :beach:

We liked Good Hope Estate...well, I did anyway. :) The kids and husband were a tad bored with the historical and educational value. lol
And we went to Green Grotto Caverns with a stop at a beach after. It was a really nice excursion.
I have heard Dunns Falls is a MUST do though and that might be more fun for a couple of grownups.

Have a great cruise. :)

Sounds like we're on the same cruise...we leave Saturday and two adults here also. We're not all that adventurous though. We are doing the horseback ride/swim at Braco Stables. It's a 10-15 ride from the port and the excursion is 2 1/2 hours. You can ride the horses into the ocean to where the horses are actually swimming. From my research on Trip Advisor, this place got a lot of good reviews. So that's our Falmouth day.

My family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers (19 and 16) recently did the Tranopy Adventure and enjoyed it very much.

we are signed up for a trip to Blue Hole which reviews say are amazing. some say it os better than Dunns

I'm just going to go to Margaritaville, wander around the port and then go back to the boat. I really don't have any desire to go to Jamaica, so I'm just considering it pretty much a stationary sea day.

We booked a day pass at Jewel at Runaway Bay through Resort For a Day.com and we loved it

We booked with SNL Jamaican Tours to Blue Hole. There are so many different areas you can jump from or dive off of. We had the best day!

We did the Horseback riding and the Dunns River Falls and loved them both, but I was talking to a friend who did the same Falls trip and didn't like it because of the "gauntlet" of vendors at the end as you are heading back to your bus. We were warned by our tour guide on the bus, "Unless you want a hard sell, and a lot of haggling, don't talk to those vendors and NEVER shake their hands." Sure enough, my friends father accepted a handshake from one of them and was practically pulled into a tent. Since we had been warned, we kept our heads down, didn't talk to any of them, and just kept moving, and we had no problems, all nine of us, including my 70-year-old mother. It was a 10 minute blemish on a wonderful day. I would definitely go again, but I just wanted to warn you about that part in case your tour guide doesn't.

We originally set up private tour to Blue Hole, but 70 min each way, ughhh... on the third port day in a row. We did this cruise last year and it did not stop at Jamaica, we had an extra sea day. So we have now decided to just get off mid day, go to Margaritaville and hang at the awesome looking pool, have a couple drinks and enjoy a quieter ship.

LSUfan4444.....thanks for posting some great pics of this resort. Have a few ???'s. Did you recently go on this and am most concerned about getting back to ship on time. Called them and they assured me there top priority is to get us back to port on time but I am a little worried about getting back an hour and a half before the ship sails....I wish it would get back a little sooner. What was the exact time you left the resort to return to port and what was the exact time you were dropped off at the ship? I just worry about if a bus were to break down for some reason or traffic and then cutting it really close with only a hour and a half. How was the 40 minute drive? Do the buses stay at the resort once they drop you off? That's what they have told me. Also read some older reviews where the bus left early for some reason even though these people got to the meeting spot 20 minutes early. I was assured and assume that you don't have to pick up the transportation outside of the gates but inside and was wondering if it was fairly easy when you got off of the ship the morning of and what time you left for the resort? Also how was the food/drinks....haven't really seen a whole lot about what types of food and drink they offer. Thanks again for your post and help!

I agree with the PP that said you may be already exhausted on Jamaica day. We were just on the 9/3 western. You have the 3 port days in a row and may want to just chill in Jamaica. Sleep in, Walk around the port if you like, maybe take a dip at margaritaville , then enjoy the ship. That's what we did (minus margaritville) and it was nice to recover after our busy days in Cozumel and grand Cayman.

from pick up to drop off, how long was the entire excursion?

Margaritaville sounds good. How far is the restaurant from the port? We'll probably head back to the ship afterwards. Not looking forward to running the gauntlet of purveyors.

Eyes straight ahead, walk with purpose, do not look around, do not stop.

Easy.

They don't get much worse than the fake characters in Times Square - even with regulations - and those techniques have yet to fail. Where people get into trouble is if they pause or look even slightly.

Margaritaville is inside the gates of the new port. You don't have to even leave the compound, so there will be no gauntlet to speak of. It has a pool, swim up bar, etc.

We chose to spend the entire day with our driver. He picked us up just right after we were cleared in Jamaica (around 8am) and dropped us off back inside the port about 1 hour before all aboard (around 3pm). The hour drive each way was fantastic. Lindsay (owner of SNL Jamaican Tours) gave us so much information about the history of the island. He stopped on the side of the road and picked us fruits, picked us different leaves that they use for medicines and just overall information about the island. I learned more in those driving hours with him then an intire year of history class.
