Fall/winter Discounts

My fingers are crossed as well!! I've never waited so long to book before and it's making me crazy - of course, I've never had an AP before this either!

Me either. Of course, based on the early fall discounts this may be the one time when having the AP makes no difference. I really can't win with that. ;)

HAHA! I am the same...Never had an AP, I finally get one and they drag their feet with discounts! I am the kiss of death for all things like this...Never follow me in the stock market! :rotfl:

Well no luck today, I just hung up with a CM who said the room only discounts run to Sept 29 and nothing past that

That sucks. I was hoping something for today. We only have $280 left to pay and would be awesome if a discount came along before the end of the month when I make the final payment and it be a lot less than that. That way I can start buying the things I want to take with us on vacation. I have every payment and every additional shopping for the trip planned out in great detail on my calendar. So getting a discount would get me ahead of schedule. But then again we do only have a little under $300 to go so it won't be too big of deal if there's no discount or if it doesn't apply to AoA.

I got a free dining email last night for dates in September, October, November and December! Too bad I'm looking for room discounts for late Feb/March:)

There are specific date ranges.....For arrivals most nights 9/30-10/4, 10/19-11/1, 11/9-11/15, 11/23-11/29, 12/10-12/13/12.

sounds like some CM are saying by the end of the month :(

Two people reported today that AP discounts will be out " soon" and " by the end of the month".

I've had 3 different CM's tell me when I've called not until mid september for the next round of AP discounts... I don't know who to believe anymore!!!

On the plus side, at least we are now hearing rumors, even if they are contradictory. Before CMs were just saying " I don't know." so something is in the works.

Just curious - did you specifically ask about AP discounts? Or did you ask about discounts and they mentioned "AP".

It's possible that there are AP discounts coming but CMs are just guessing as to when. Or possibly there are discounts coming this month and next month but one is AP and one is GP.

This is starting to look like last fall waiting for GP discounts. CMs reported date after date that came and went. And when the finally did come, they were so far beyond what anyone had predicted. I suspect most CM rumors come from the same place ours do - pure speculation based on past discounts. Some rumors come from internal memos and staffing increases, of course, but those wouldn't really occur more than two weeks out. This year prediction is further complicated by the fact we're not even sure if they'll release AP or GP first. There are just so many plausible scenarios.

I'm looking for a Dec discount this year so I can afford to be patient. But based on how late it is and the fact that most of Oct was left out of the GP discount last year, I don't think I will be counting on Oct discounts in the future.

I'd be a bit nervous if I were hoping for an October discount.

I went on Disney's site and played around with a bunch of different reservation dates at different resorts (mind you, these were just standard reservations, not discounted "special offers").

October is really booked (particularly late October, where resort choices are slim pickings). Early November is also pretty booked (although not as much as late October).

Interestingly, the closer one gets to the middle of F&W and the lead up to Halloween, the more booked the resorts appear to be.

I'm starting to wonder whether part of the reason Disney seems to be dragging their feet on fall room discounts is that they don't intend to offer much (if anything) for October. Plus, I'm guessing they're waiting to see how the combination of FLE + FD plays out. So why rush?

They are heavily marketing FD. But FD doesn't really have the same target audience as RO, so I'm not sure there is a connection. They're not really marketing FLE though. At least, not yet.

The week we are going which is October 14th week there are plenty of reservations and of course this is blacked out from FD. I'm
hoping we will get a room discount besides the 10% that we have so we can change to a deluxe resort.
If we dont then we will live with staying a CBR which I think we will really enjoy but Poly is my favorite. There is no way I would stay at the Poly without a discount.
Just hoping for a discount but not depending on it :thumbsup2

Uh oh! I'm looking for Oct 27th-Nov 4th. I currently have a room discounted bounceback for my dates that I booked last Dec when I was there, but am hoping for an AP discount to beat it. Not holding my breath though. At the same time I booked the Oct/Nov trip, I also booked two other bouncebacks for last May and the first week of Sept. When the AP discounts came out for May, they were exactly the same as the bounceback, so I just stayed with the bounceback deal. When AP discounts came out for Sept they were again exactly the same as the bounceback (except fewer resorts were offered for the AP discount). I wanted to apply an AP discount instead of the POFQ bounceback deal I had, but POFQ was not even included for the AP discount for my dates, so I could either stay with the bounceback deal or move to another resort. I decided to use the AP discount over at AKL.
