Fall trip

For us a trip was of the Mississippi means 2-3 days travel just to get to that point. Right now that would be summer season when school is out so Melissa has the time off. Otherwise, I am the only one that can travel during the school year as her classroom is impossible to take with us. So its a bucket list for us for when we can take longer trips. Though trying to make plans for a summer 2025 trip up to the finger lakes....there is hills and corn field up there....super exciting.
Watkins Glen, Ithaca (Robert H. Treman State Park)... you will DEFINITELY find some awesome views hiking the gorges there!!!

Sorry...didn't mean to momentarily hijack...

Loving the western trip report.... I did two out west trips with my parents (once in 1980 and once in 1983)...both were probably close to 3 weeks long leaving from Massachusetts... all the biggies plus small stuff in between... Yellowstone, S. Helens, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, redwood forests in CA, Salt Lake, petrified forests, etc... great memories and so very thankful they decided that we do that!

@4077 Born and raised on LI, spent some good summers in northern NY as well. And many adult trips to the Glen area for races. Have not RV'd there yet, so it is the comprimise till I can do a trip west like this.

Now on Pacific Time, 3rd time zone on our trip

In post #1 of this thread, you say it's a 60-day trip which means you will STILL be on this trip when you turn the clock back another hour on Nov 3 which will put you, trip-wise, in the Alaska Time Zone (1 hour behind Pacific) relative to when you started.

That would make my head spin.

PS - EDIT: but maybe by that time you'll be headed towards home and maybe be in Mountain time (or Central) but still, that's a lot of clock resets.

Yes, we will be back in CTZ the 3rd, should be home November 12th, weather permitting, it's hard on the dogs, their dinner is at 6, not 5, not 7, but at 6, lol

How was Sam's Town? I've read good things, but others complain it is a "concrete jungle" and noisy.

We love it, we needed a break from all the dust out west, we have an end site so we have grass for the dogs, our bus is well insulated so not too noisy, it's constant air traffic, it's mostly south of us
Sams Town Casino is really nice, highly recommend

Walked around camp today, the only concrete I found were curbs, the roads are blacktop and sites are crushed gravel, typical desert setup, palms, cacti and small grassy areas here and there

I saw on the news they were tearing down the Tropicana, but there isn't much left. That went fast.
