Does Disney usually run a Fall discount on tickets like the one they currently are offering for Spring? And do they have a certain time of year that they adjust or raise ticket prices? Thanks.

I don't know enough about the historical precedence for discounts, so I'll let someone else answer that for you, but I did get a hint at fall price increases this week when my kids brought home their summer/fall GetAwayToday catalogs from school. If I remember correctly, the catalog had 3-day park-hoppers discounted from about 240 to 220, which, of course, is $20 more than current prices.:worried:

You can purchase fall tickets for $199 right now for a 3 day hoppper but get a 5 day hopper. It is called our 5 for 3. I am in Canada though, but you don't have to be a Canadian resident or anything. We almost always have that special on thru most of the year. I'm traveling in Sep. and have purchased it for my family.:)

Fall usually doesn't have too many discounts due to the popularity of the Halloween & then Christmas.

I would expect even less this year due to Carsland opening.

Jilld11, is this a special you can get online? If so, can you provide a link? Thanks!

Hello,
No, it's not an online special, it's something that we as travel agents sell all the time. I just double checked my pricing and was a little wrong. The adults are $202, kids are $192 (they did go up a few $3 since I bought two weeks ago). But these are the 5 for 3 hoppers, so you actually get a 5 day hopper for only paying for the 3. There are no additional fees or taxes on these either.

Are these 5 for 3 hoppers only available from travel agents, and do they have to be used by a certain date?

They might be available through tour companies directly but I'm not sure if they are for Canadian residents only. I'm my past experience being a TA a few tour companies would let you buy passes only for a small fee so long as it totaled more than a certain amount of $$$.

This year I've booked directly with Westjet and they are currently offering a 6 day park hopper for 255$ cdn
ex:
5-Day DISNEYLAND Resort PARK HOPPER Bonus Ticket $250.00
6-Day DISNEYLAND Resort PARK HOPPER Bonus Ticket $255.00
7-Day DISNEYLAND Resort PARK HOPPER Bonus Ticket $259.00

This is exactly what I would have said, disneychrista!

At most, Disney sometimes offers special tickets/Hoppers that extend to the end of September, but that is not certain - especially this year, with all of the new stuff happening. Unless Cars Land and Buena Vista Street are just total failures and Disney can't get anyone to come to the parks, it's doubtful we will see too many ticket discounts past the Summer season, and definitely not during the late Fall/holiday season.

In fact, all the current "special" ticket/Hopper prices I have seen (like sold at my supermarket) only go up to June 9th or somewhere around there and then they expire.

I'm almost willing to bet money I don't have that there will be a ticket/Hopper/Annual Pass price hike right before Cars Land officially opens. It was last June when the prices were raised, so I think it's a safe bet that we can expect another fun increase by mid-June.

They are not only for Canadians. I just know that I purchase through a wholesaler (that only sells to travel agents) and they are $202 for adults and $192 for children and there is no fee or extras added to that to buy them. I sell them to my clients for that exact price and have no fees on top of that.

No. I usually book throught Holiday House. They only sell to travel agents, not the consumer directly. Sometimes I use Western Vacations, but not often.

Oh I have to call the TA now! I was hoping for some deals and this would be the best one I can think of!

Oh OK, I remember Holiday House too.

So how much again was the 5for3 - $202?

That isn't too bad. I'm just not totally sure if I want to do a little longer. We are going from a wed-wed and plan on having one day at the Zoo or Sea World. The day we leave we can't use the park but we could on our arrival day. We also might do the Halloween Party and wouldn't need a park ticket to cover that day.

If I do my figuring correctly that means instead of the 6 day hopper on the Disney site or Westjet I could do the 5for3 unless they don't have the MHP on days that fit my dates.

Gah

edit: omg, I just realized the price difference between the 5for3 park hopper and the current 5/6 day park hopper being offered elsewhere saves me enough money FOR our MHP tickets.... that is awesome news and pretty much seals the deal for me. :yay:

I've been thinking it might be good to lock in my tickets for our October trip now. After reading this thread and speculation in other places, it seems like the smart move.

and disappointment

:(

I read the details on Westjet Vacations with whom I'm booked and their current deal is only for travel up until the 15 June/2012

I bought via Holiday House/Fun Sun for Sep. 21st travel for the 5 for 3 for $202 adult and $192 kids. Great deal.
