I'm considering a short mom and son visit in mid-October. It's an extra splurge since we went back in March and I'm only considering value resorts. Does anyone know if the large tour groups or sports/cheer groups tend to be there at that time of the year and if so, which values they usually stay in? I'm thinking Movies or POP.

Also, anyone know if it will be likely to have a room only discount at that time?

Thank you. :)

Yah, the BTGs are at their worst in Jan and September. Mid October should be fine. We are going 12-23, not getting FD but not sad either since we booked a bounceback from when we went in March too :) I think POP is the better option! Have fun! I would love to have a Mom/Son trip but my girls would be REALLY mad at me LOL

Thanks guys. :) That sounds good, I checked that link and it looks like there's a good chance of a room discount. I'm sure I'd deal with any groups at the resort but hey if I can avoid them why not. :teeth:

I think I'd prefer POP but we visited Movies one day and he was insane for the Toy Story icons.

I love both. However POP also has the option of visiting AoA which is amazing. POP also has the lake to walk around. I love my mother son trips.

October is a great time. You should miss the cheer crowd. They tend to stay at the All-Star resorts for the most part, so I would plan either POP or AoA.
