We will be traveling in September for a cruise. HOTHS on the Disney Wish.
We will be staying on property for a couple of days before and a couple days following. We will arrive to the Polynesian on Saturday morning, and depart for our cruise on Monday. We will arrive back from the cruise on Friday, at the Riviera Resort, and have a late flight on Saturday home.
We figured on probably only being able to do one park. The Halloween party is a bit of a game-changer, as it gives us the opportunity for chill time, and also a bit of park time.
This is the way we are leaning.... Hollywood Studios on the Sunday before the cruise. Then, MNSSHP the Friday we arrive back. The reason for this being that a late night before a rest day prior to a flight seems to be much easier than a late night before an early morning headed to the Port. Of course, the negative is Friday is likely to be more crowded than a Sunday party. It is also a bit backwards from our resort areas.
Other options: MNSSHP the Sunday night before our cruise. Hollywood Studios when we get back on Friday. Not super ideal, like I said...late night before early pickup for the cruise. It may also mean doing Studios a little bit later, rather than at rope drop.
Skip MNSSHP altogether. Do MK the Sunday before cruise to take advantage of the low crowds. Do what we can in 6-7 hours, then leave before the party traffic starts arriving. Being at the Poly, this would make travel work out. We'd also be able to catch the special fireworks even if we aren't at the party. Studios on the day we get back from the cruise.
If you can think of any other combination of Studios/magic Kingdom you think might work, feel free to let us know. With us arriving and leaving on Saturdays, we'd hate to spend money on those partial days, especially since them being a Saturday, they will likely be much busier. But...we can certainly take it into consideration.
