We have a bed (3x3'ish) around our mailbox that is in dire need of replanting. All the spring/summer plants are brown and we want to redo it for the fall. It is in full sun. Any suggestions for fall plants for the mailbox bed?

Thanks!

Mum look nice and there are lots for sale now.

For fall, I'd have to 2nd the mums option. When we first moved in 2 years ago, I bought some spindly little 2" pots just for some color before the winter. Now, those 2 plants are about 3' in diameter and bloom twice a season. :thumbsup2 If you're in a colder climate, the beautiful ornamental cabbage is also a possibility.

I don't do well with mums. I kill them every year within weeks of getting them.

What about lantana or some other type of butterfly plant? They grow tall.

Miniature roses are always nice too. Fall is a great time for them here in Florida. Floribundas or Dr. Huey rootstocks are good too.

Any johnny jump-ups available? They are really pretty and may even turn into perennials for you.

Zinnias or asters or some other daisy like flower? Black eyed Susan, Shasta, Gerbera...

Mexican heather is very pretty if you want low growing ground cover.

Primrose?

Any of those sound interesting?

Those all sound interesting, especially the Mexican heather. I'll have to look at those online.

Thanks for the ideas!
