Fall Direct Incentives

Direct looks like it has changed strategies with pre-sales and opening prices. Up to and including VGF2, they were very generous with incentives to push those initial sales numbers.

VDH, CFW and now Poly2 look different, letting the extra-enthusiastic customers buy first at higher pricing, then deeper discounts are offered later to motivate the interested who will only buy under a certain price.

We figured Poly2 would be similar to VDH and eventually those really good incentives would arrive after a year or so.

disney land at least offered 20 a point discount on 150 points. And was good for 50 years. Grand floridian's discount was around the same too. They just started lower because $207 was the going rate when thye opened.

The cabins were the first property with such low discounts since pre-covid. Unlike the cabins the poly tower will still probably do well.

My point was from a buyers perspective. Used to be getting in on the first round was better than the next few rounds. That seems to have changed. Now they start out the gate higher and put the more enticing pricing later down the line.

Or Disney better be really, really good at selling cash rooms there.

I suppose in theory they could add WH anytime, right? Or take it away (set an earlier expiry like the Visa deal)? Something not being live on the first day of a quarter doesn’t mean it won’t appear later? (Didn’t OKW deals come out mid-incentive cycle?

For now I would guess they’re gauging that PIT interest is high, and they don’t need to give launch pricing a haircut, but that can always be adjusted. If you think about it, it’s still cheaper than VDH (because they can charge more for DL resorts even with TOT and restrictions…).
