I am usually not one to let go of summer too quickly, but for some reason, this particular summer has seemed too long. Tomorrow is the first day of fall and I am welcoming the new season with open arms!:yay:

It is still hot here in the Phoenix area, but the temps are slowly getting a bit cooler. No more 100+ days and the mornings and evenings are very nice! The past few days have actually been cloudy and it has put me in the fall decorating mode.:woohoo:

I've put fall flowers in all my flower pots, inside and outside. I've put up a few small scarecrows and pumpkins (not real and not jack-o-lanterns) around the living room, switched out my flowery summer door wreath for a leafy fall one, and changed over all my kitchen towels/pot holders to ones with fall designs.

Today I have fall scented (Crisp Fall Leaves) wax cubes melting in my warmer and the house smells wonderful! I'm making American Chop Suey for dinner, which is something I never make during the summer.

It may still be warm outside, but at least it's fall inside my house! :thumbsup2

Anyone else ready to embrace fall? Have you done any fall decorating yet?

Not yet. I don't like to let go of summer either. We're going to Florida next week. When we return I'll probably buy some mums to put on the porch and a fall wreath for the door. Probably a few pumpkins and gourds too. Last weekend I found a autumn themed flag for the pole. I have some fall potholders and kitchen towels in the closet.

But nothing fall themed gets displayed before October 1 at the earliest. Halloween specific décor waits until about October 15.

I did!!! I have a candle, leaves, and an autumn plate on my kitchen table. I have to make it unbreakable for the boys in my house. :lmao: I did put a glass bowl of pumpkins in my bedroom. Not huge, but my house has a more Fall feel to it.

Oh I am all ready for Fall!!! I have pumpkin and gourds along with corn stalks, hay and mums on my front porch. Inside are lots of fall decorations. My window has swags of fall leaves with orange lights - so pretty at night. My candles have fall rings around them. My centerpiece is a small scarecrow in the center of a wreath that is made with fall leaves. I have a fall table runner on my coffee table in the living room along with a few set around pieces. It will be getting colder this weekend so I can't wait to light my Yankee Candle Autumn leaves jar - that is my most favorite one!:lovestruc

Same with me...I won't put out Fall stuff until Oct 1st. I like to have it decorated when DS comes home from college for Fall break. I did buy a pumpkin spice scented Yankee candle, a Fall plate with pumpkins for the chest in my foyer and some Fall dish towels last weekend. I also just got my gas fireplace fixed yesterday. I am getting ready!!!!

I don't feel like it should be Fall yet because it seems like this Summer went by lightning fast, but nonetheless I did put up my Halloween/Fall decorations last Saturday...when it was 95 degrees, LOL. I probably wouldn't have but I'm going to be on vacation and wanted the decorating to be already done when I get home.

Very nice!:thumbsup2

Still in the 90s here, too. Today is actually quite nice, though. We've had some rain and the temps are in the low 80s. I like that!:hyper: We won't be putting any real pumpkins outside for quite awhile yet, though! With Halloween coming around, I'm reminded of a very funny picture that showed up on facebook last year. Someone posted a picture of a jack-o-lantern sitting outside and it was all dried up and withered-looking. The caption underneath read: This is why we can't have nice things in Arizona. :rotfl::laughing: It really cracked me up!

I put up my fall stuff right after Labor Day. It's been unseasonably hot this year but I love fall.

I typically don't do mine until Oct 1st but we will be out of town that weekend. So I'm hoping to get it done this weekend along with 101 other things so we will see if it actually happens.

I don't have stuff to decorate, but I am so ready for fall. I love the scented candles.

Starting to get that Autumn feel in the SF Bay Area. Mornings & evenings are cooler. Days are def getting shorter. But here in the East Bay 'burbs, we're gonna get close to 100 on Sunday & Monday. I will wait to get out the Fall decorations (some very Halloween specific) until Oct 1.

I'll decorate for Halloween before Fall. Going to do that this weekend. After Halloween, the pumpkins stay out for Fall. I don't like summer to end. But I do like Halloween!

I started seeing fall (and Halloween) stuff within the last week or so. I still think it is a bit too early, I like to do it the first weekend in October myself.

Halloween I won't do till October, but fall I do at some point in September. A lot of it is weather dependent for me. I've had years where summer ended early and it was so cool at the end of August that I started putting mums on the porch. This year has been so warm and summer like I just pulled out some fall decor and bought some mums this week. And I kind of did it under duress, still feels like summer! Although I think that is supposed to change this weekend. I don't do scented candles at all, most of my fall decor is natural....mums and other fall plants, gourds, pumpkins, etc.

I decorated for Fall on September 1st. I do not do much outdoors because I decorate for Halloween.

On October 1st all Halloween goes up and I swap out some of my Fall in the house to make room. I go big or go home Halloween, so inside and out is a huge production. But, Halloween goes away November 1st. Back to Fall until just after Thanksgiving. I love Falltime, so I enjoy every minute. THe smells and the colors are so cozy

I put a few fall things out last weekend: kitchen rug with leaves motif, fall themed paper napkins in the basket on the counter, fall placemats replacing summer ones on the dining room table, fall wreath on the outside door, new mum plants on the stoop. I also put away all the summer decor items. I still have quite a few Halloween specific items but I will wait until mid-October to put those out. I also have a different comforter for the bed (summer one is much lighter and pastel colored) that I use in the fall/winter but I haven't got that out yet because the nights have been too warm.

I keep plastic bins in my basement marked Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring and store my seasonal items in those. If I choose not to put an item out for a couple years in a row I donate it. I also decorate for Christmas pretty early (sometimes before Thanksgiving) so I like to get the fall stuff out fast. I like changing the theme every few months. Putting out those seasonal items is like getting reacquainted with old friends. I also try to add at least one new item every season. Last weekend I found a fall themed painting at a thrift shop for $10 that looks great on my mantle!
