Fall Break Oct. 4 & 5th -- good time to go?

My dd will have a Fall Break this coming fall on October 4 and 5th. I believe that is a Thursday and Friday. I wasn't sure how many states had a Fall break during this time. Is this a good time to do to DL I really don't want to go during a busy time. I guess the alternative would be to taker her out that Tuesday and Wednesday before the break -- that way she would only miss 2 days of school and we could hopefully get in a few non-busy days. I wasn't sure if anyone had any info to share.
She will also have November 8 and 9th off from school, but again, not sure how many states will be giving those days off.
Thanks for any info. We can't wait for our DL trip, and this board just keeps feeding our obsession lol

I know last year October was busier because it was the 1st year of the major Halloween theming. Our fall break in AZ is the following week, and we will be there the 7th-11th. I do know that the "gay days" are the 5th - 7th - but I am not sure if that has a huge impact on crowds.

If crowds are your #1 concern - Tues and Wed are usually the best days to go - but I doubt it would be that bad the 4th and 5th.

Well, i have been tracking when people have said the park is "packed or dead" over a period of time in my day runner. According to my notes, Oct 5th
(Thursday) was Packed, but the 19th(Thursday) and 25th (Wednesday) were Dead days. I think many SoCal schools are out on year round schools and they are off the beginning of Oct but must go back around the second or third week.

October 5-8 is Columbus day weekend.

We have been there the last week of Oct. It was a great time to go. Whatever you do, catch the Haunted Mansion. It's totally decked out for Halloween.

Our family was there last year on 10/3-10/5 (which was Mon-Wed) the park was super busy on Monday and Tuesday, they extended the hours (on Monday). It was a break for the students in AZ. who have year round school, some kind of holiday for CA. students, and fall break in Hawaii. I don't really remember what else, but we agreed that we didn't feel like we really had fun until Wed. since it was just too many people for us and the kids (18 mos and 4).

Gay Days that weekend, plus Columbus Day. I think I'd hear terrible horror stories of crowds on Columbus Day.

On a side note, I'm in AZ and next year our Fall break runs late -- October 15-19.

Regarding November 8-9, that comes close to Veterans Day weekend which has been incredibly busy the last couple years. I would avoid Veterans Day weekend at all costs.

Regarding "don't want to go during a busy time", please understand that non-busy times are when DLR takes rides down for refurb and cuts back on shows. If you go on off-season weekdays you will have limited shows you can see. You will not be able to see Fantasmic or the Remember Dreams Come True fireworks unless you go over a weekend. And park hours will be cut back such that DL will close at 8PM each night and DCA at 6PM. But then if you go over a weekend to catch some shows, it will be busier which defeats your goal of going when it is not busy.
