I think if you are buying a AP mostly for the discounts that you are setting yourself up to be disappointed. Only buy them if you plan on going to the parks a lot, not because you are hoping to get room discounts. Disney has never advertised APs as a great way to save money.


I think Disney assumes that AP holders will visit no matter what the discount. This also applies to us DVC members. We sometimes want to book a cash reservation, but I can NEVER get a pincode. Disney knows I'll be back to spend my money so why waste discounts on us.
