Fall 2020 trip cancellation?

We have a big birthday trip planned for the beginning of October for this year. We even purchased a set of Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween party tickets. Now with everything going on I just wanted to know what everyone is doing regarding their fall reservations? I saw that the phases of the parks would go from 50-75% and they would use the six feet apart rule for queues. I feel like lines for rides are going to massive by using that rule.

What are the rest of you fall vacationers doing? rebooking?

They haven't actually announced how Disney will handle reopening, or when they would even start. the only thing that has been released is the State's guidelines for reopening, and it's just general guidelines for theme parks (FunSpot USA was mentioned in the list of "smaller" theme parks with reopening guidelines but they have already announced they won't even reopen this year at all). We were thinking of making plans to go down in October, but I won't book anything until i see when Disney officially sets a date for reopening and sends out details on how they're going to handle it.

By December things should be getting back to normal ( what ever that is) we are booked in for 3 weeks and just waiting to October to see if we should cancel or continue on

We have mid-November and late December booked currently. I will make my November ADRs in a few weeks and leave it at that for now. I will wait for actual announcements as to how they plan to open and operate and then make a decision from there.

I have DLR tix already from a cancelled March trip and a hotel (off property) booked for October and I will not be cancelling until September at the earliest. As for WDW, I'm planning a late November/early December trip but won't book a hotel until about 2 months prior to that (I stay off property and usually rent a timeshare or a house). I'm optimistic but also well aware that neither trip may happen.

nice having three weeks there. Where u guys staying

I am keeping my late September trip for now, but will probably cancel if Universal postpones the 30th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights.

It‘a just impossible to know at this point.

We have a Sept. trip booked and we're playing the wait and see game. I did, however, book a room only stay for June 2021 as our back-up plan, so at least if we decide to cancel the kids already know another trip is booked...at least as much as it can be from this far in advance.

I have an August booking. I'm not doing anything just yet but I'm curious if they open in phases (which seems almost certain......no way Epcot could open right away) If you don't have all parks available how can you charge full price on tickets or even offer a hopper pass. I can't imagine all attractions will be available either. If you potentially have limited dining......how is a dining plan worth the money? So many questions. Its going to be very interesting.

It really makes it hard to justify under those terms.

I won’t cancel until we have all the info, or they cancel for us.

We have a trip in July focused on water parks. If they aren’t open, I’ll cancel. If it seems like the requirements to go will be miserable, I’ll cancel.

We have an October trip for MNSSHP, HHN, LEGOLAND Halloween, etc. Again, won’t cancel until we have details. Will cancel if they expect masks, have limited things open, etc.

Just curious as to why you don't feel they could open Epcot (I know they sent workers home, but they could temporarily replace them...not the same, but doable.)

I guessI don't really understand the theory that it'd be better for them to not open all parks in the beginning. Wouldn't it be easier to social distance if all parks were open...spread the visitors??

How could they evenly spread the visitors? I mean we have resort guests, AP, and offsite guests.

My thoughts are only allowing ppl. in with fastpasses or adrs. - They'd have an exact count as to the max. number of ppl at each park any given day. Yes, ppl. may leave throughout the day, but I feel like it's a start to be able to plan for an exact cap.

Epcot is a huge park. It requires thousands to operate. Between the attractions, stores, dining, and countries its just too much in my opinion. Many of the staff were College Program and visiting foreign born all sent home. If you were Disney which park are you looking to open first...….Magic Kingdom. I think the other parks would be easier to open before Epcot. Add to that all the construction......which not opening right away would allow that to be completed...…as best they can.

We were November 2020 - Now we are April 2021

We do not want to wear masks in the parks
Our stare in the NE - has not opened up anything
I also want a COVID-19 vaccine :)

I am not going to wait for an offer of QS free dining - since we are at POP and always do meals on our own - a TS each day or every other day

I had a March trip that was cancelled just days before our arrival. We are now booked for October. I am like most in that I am waiting to see what happens in the next couple of months and how Disney re-opens. I don't live in Florida so if I go to Disney, I want all the parks, experiences to be open. If they are not, then it is not worth us spending all the money. I also want to make sure my family and kiddos are as safe as possible. I am increasing concerned about how this is all going to play out. Now that everyone is pushing to open things up, the White House is now predicting 3,000 deaths per day by June 1 and 1,000,000 dead by August. Judging by other discussion threads, there is a segment of people who are vehemently opposed to wearing masks. So, one of them can easily be a carrier and spread the virus in a crowded theme park. I don't see how mass crowd venues like Disney can operate in these circumstances. They can cut occupancy to a point but there has to be a mark that says it is not profitable to do it. I bet Disney is trying to figure that out now.
