Fall 2020 trip cancellation?

I had a May and Nov. trip already booked earlier this year. Had to cancel May and will make ADR's tomorrow for Nov. We had decided no Fp's and no rides Still hope Food and Wine will be held. We have the summer to see how the phases will go. I have no problem wearing a mask in certain situations, but not wear one in the parks all day. Hopefully it won't come to that and crowds will be low.

Epcot is a huge park. It requires thousands to operate. Between the attractions, stores, dining, and countries its just too much in my opinion. Many of the staff were College Program and visiting foreign born all sent home. If you were Disney which park are you looking to open first...….Magic Kingdom. I think the other parks would be easier to open before Epcot. Add to that all the construction......which not opening right away would allow that to be completed...…as best they can.

Doug :goofy:
I don’t know...they are probably working on that already. All the parks will be open.( not certain about water parks. )

We were supposed to be going Thanksgiving week. We booked a bounce back last Thanksgiving. Today we booked for Easter 2021. My daughter has some health issues that we can't take risks and if we still don't feel it is safe for her for Easter, we will end up moving it again. It gives us something to look forward to for longer. Gotta try and find the positives.

we postponed our April to trip to mid October. feeling like we likely won't go; not sure a "limited experience" is worth it for us unless there is a cooresponding discount. I gave my TA instructions to book a package for April 2021 as soon as packages open up.

A discount for limited experience would be nice but seriously Disney never does that. I am guessing they will get enough folks in for a free dining discount or 25% off on rooms to avoid that kind of discount even if the pools and buffets aren't open. This is assuming they open at all this year (which my money says, mayhap but by no means guessing might or oh well)

Our trip is booked for late September. We always try & visit during F & W. It’s our first Deluxe stay at a DVC (Boardwalk Villas). We will be disappointed if EPCOT is closed, but as we rented points, so we can’t change or cancel. September is Magical Dining in Orlando. I’m backing up any in-park dining reservations with off site choices, just in case. It’ll be a different Disney experience, but it’ll be Disney!

We fly out the first weekend in October. I'm holding out for another 6 weeks before I cancel. The biggest factor for us is Food and Wine. If that's a no go, we're a no go. I'm also hesitant to wearing a mask all day in that weather. I have problems wearing it to the store some days.

What’s the logic for not opening pools or water parks, with all that chlorine?

agreed, which is why I don't think we will be going in October; likely not worth it financially.

I have a Conference in Orlando on August 27th, but we will arrive on the 23rd. So for now, we are keeping our reservations.

The thing that would make me cancel is if we have to wear masks. That would certainly make us touch our faces a lot more than normal.

But we have only put $200 down and the payment date is only 1 or 2 days before we leave, so we will see what happens.

The bummer would be that if we need to rebook, it will probably cost us a lot more, unless they are letting you rebook at the same price, which I don´t think they´ll do.

I’m in the wait and see camp. We have 2 weeks in early Aug booked and 10 days in late Nov/Dec booked.
Also an issue for me is when the Canada/US border opens.

We are booked for Nov 8-17 at All Star Music. We are doing the wait and see as well. We don't usually do ANY sit down meals, just not our style, so buffets being closed or limited would not affect us. We DO really love to swim, but the main pool at All Star Music was already scheduled to be closed so we sort of planned and prepared for minimal swimming so the pools being closed may not affect us. We have decided if masks are required we will wear them. While I don't agree with it, we 100% plan to go in 2021 for the 50th so having to reschedule our 2020 trip would mean pushing back our 2021, or missing it all together. So we decided we would rather go now with limited experiences, make the best of what we have, make memories in a different way, enjoy what we can, and just BE at Disney. Day by day I check for updates and honestly I know we will have no idea what phase they are in come November UNTIL they open.

We are booked for our regular Thanksgiving to first week of December time slot. I’m fully prepared to wear masks and be a good social distancer. I’m hoping things will be open but if not we will move our reservation to late February. Fingers crossed!
