Sunnie the Dis team just put up a video of the "Best Disneyland Attractions NOT at Walt Disney World". I thought it might get you and your grandmunchkins even more excited about DL!:)

Thank you SO much!!! Now I have to figure out how to find it looked lol! That was so sweet of you to think of us!!!!

WOO HOO!!! Congrats!!! :woohoo:

I second that!!! Hooray!!!!!

I just read they were giving out free ice cream at FEA today and some people had been waiting for 5 hours to ride!!

That was to prevent riots and dehydration, lol.

I'm allergic to alcohol - it's the equivalent to Charlie brown getting a rock in his trick or treat bag:eek:

Just bit the bullet and (finally) booked flights on Southwest for all 12 in our party.

Thank you, Companion Pass(es)!

Goodbye, 180,000 points!

Alcohol is something I can tolerate in very small amounts. Two drinks put me under the table. Lol

Congratulations on booking your flights for 12 people!!! That's awesome Mfly!!!

Woof! That's a lot of points!!! DH and I never got into points, we're all about cash back rewards, show me the money! Not saying that it's better, but it does allow for us to use cash back portals, while earning cash back rewards and using the cash back reward dollars we received (amex/discover).

Totally understand! Agreed - it's a lot of points. Two of us opened 2 Southwest Visas each, which earned enough points to cover all of our flights (plus the bonus of Companion Passes).

I've never stepped foot into the "points" world before, but I'm glad I did. The cost to book our flights out-of-pocket would have been almost $4,000.

[I'm not advocating opening voluminous numbers of credit cards willy-nilly.]

I do read the points guy, he says just by renting a car for a day can earn you mega points to the degree he rented out several just to earn 2 RT tickets to Europe - First Class at a fraction of the cost though he didn't drive a single car. No need for additional insurance and he didn't have to fill up any tanks. Amazing!!! My DH has been flying here and there every blue moon for work, but this past year they have increased to monthly. The points are on our minds that's why I stay up to date with his post. I remember years ago when this all started, yes I'm that old, it was great to be in the game, then the recession hit and companies drastically increased the points needed for flights & hotels. I see now that the playing field has changed that there are some great deals to be had. Good on you for getting yours!

Our RT tickets from DTW to MCO were free via Delta for 3ppl. They bumped my husband and he received 2 - $500 vouchers. With the remaining $500 voucher we were able to book another flight one-way from DEN, CO to DTW for 3ppl. We purchased the other half via Spirit $77 total pp and this is for the holiday season - it's been a good year for us too.
Cheers!

Revdisney33, that is turning out so cute! It's a great idea!!!! Thank you for showing us an update! I can't wait to see it all filled up except for one Mickey!!!

Our 'movie night' this week will be different. I joined the Landrys select club and earned a $25 gift certificate soon Swagbucks for Landrys, so we're going to Rainforest Cafe for lunch Saturday, followed by Finding Dory!! Since I got a $25 gift certificate on SB, it will be a fun, but affordable day!!

I hope everyone has a great Thursday!!! By the way, if any of you have 5 nights at Freddys fans, they just came out with a line of FNAF action figures. They had them at target, but not online. Good Christmas gifts if you have a fan.

What would Dave Ramsey say?! ;)

I love me point cards. I use my rewards CC for everything and pay it off before interest accrues. It pays me a few hundred in rewards cash a year to do this. Free money!

I also opened a Disney visa before our last trip because I got $200 GC for the no fee card. Put my Disney trip on it, paid it off the next day from the savings. Made $230 for doing that and haven't used it since.

I opened an Amazon visa when I was making a big purchase (car seat - sheesh they are expensive!) and just by applying I got an $80 credit. I didn't even have to purchase the thing on that card and got the credit.

I know so many people who are anti credit card, and I get it. But if you can be responsible about them there really are some great perks to using them wisely :)

I was going to get the Disney CC last year but I didn't. I did get it this year and used the card to get a 50 credit for our MNSSH tickets.

I agree we have a couple credit cards that we use to get rewards for certain things. We don't spend like crazy on them, we just use them for certain things each month and always pay the balance in full so we don't get charged interest. If you can be responsible with them it actually probably benefits you more to use a credit card that you get cash back or rewards for something you will use than use your debit card that gives you nothing. Our debit card actually gives us .10 per debit transaction so that is something but more than likely using a credit card with decent rewards would get you more than that.

I'm not trying to sell everyone on credit cards by the way just sharing my experience with them :)

I pay my monthly bills auto deducted from my credit card. Then pay them back. I do have a balance on my credit cards. Not too high but I'm paying them down.

We are the same way! We used our delta CCs to get ourselves so many bonus miles, 3 of our 4 flights were paid for without even charging on them, just bonus miles for signing up! The last flight we paid for with our Disney rewards dollars so our flights were FREE!!! Would've cost us more than $2,000 to get there otherwise!

We use our Disney visa for EVERYTHING month to month, we just look at it like a filter. We pay it off in full each month, but it has an entire months bills on it so we get rewards on everything. Last time we went to Disney was 2012. We haven't used rewards since then, we just let them grow, and now we are going to Disney in September with $2500 to spend!!! It's insane! That gives us the freedom to do some tours, and MNSSHP and BBB, without worrying about cost. It's such a nice bonus. Including free dining and our free flights, we have actually saved more on this vacation that we have paid!

Agreed, CC are the devil if you cant use them wisely and trust yourself to pay them off each month, but if you can be responsible about them, there's ALOT of great deals out there!
