Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

I guess its easier with three adults. None of us really care about the food all that much. We just got tired of eating cheeseburgers all the time. I was really bummed they got rid of the Taco Salads. That was my favorite. Can't find them anywhere in the park now. And Wolfgang Picks no longer has the creme brule.

My family doesn't really want to work on planning either. They say they do but, as soon as I start explaining how complicated the choices are, everyone's eyes glaze over. At least it means they are super grateful that I do it since, "it is obviously so complicated and boring"?

I've been getting that look quite often!!! My grandmunchkins are a lot more cooperative then the other two adults!! Lol

the 6 yr old in our family will be eating chicken nuggets at every meal; that's all she eats most of the time. not sure what we will do for her at the 2 BOG meals

I'm really surprised that BOG has a lot of choices for 3-9 year olds, but no nuggets, hamburger or Mac & cheese. How does it work for dessert? Do children get a cupcake now? In 2014 they didn't, which was fine, because the grandmunchkins shared mine. This year the oldest is 10, so will get his own. I was thinking of getting soup in place of a cupcake, so was wondering if little man would get his own.

You should be able to grab a QS meal and take it into BOG with you. We saw several families that had done that when we were there!

I love this idea also! We could get him exactly what he would enjoy that way!!! Still thinking cupcake war though. Lol, so it would be easier to buy a cupcake OOP. Lol

We are QS experts lol. My older grandson is on the spectrum and until right after our last trip, had trouble in restaurants, so we did QS with one of two TS reservations. Now restaurants don't phase him, so we will be doing BD. Do you like fajitas? I've been reading some great review for them at Pecos Bills.

I'm really sad about the loss of creme brulee at WPE!! It was my favorite part of my meals, even though the food is great too!

I hope you don't feel stuck eating burgers!!! There's so much more to enjoy!

I'm excited to be there the last half of our trip for the food and wine. Our snack credits will be saved. We usually only used them on the last day as it was.

I'll get the fijitas because I want to try the mini churros. But I'm sure my brother will eat somewhere else. We are staying at POP and found we love the Benidict Burger. They got rid of my burger this year. I loved their pesto Aioli. But thats gone too.

I just have to throw in we loved Pecos Bill's new menu :) We were unsure but pleasantly surprised and have said we will go back. DH and I each had the fajitas

I was reading a thread from 2013 (?), it was eat at WDW for $50/day, with TS meals. In reading through the thread I realised how many foods/meals are no longer found at WDW. The burger that's discontinued sounds yummy. I'm sorry it's gone!

I saw a tip on the restaurant board about bookmarking each restaurant and so you don't have to "find" each one to book and have your credit card# in your profile in advance. we arrive before FD starts up again, wonder it that made a difference. Crossing my fingers it does when I make FP+ for the new Frozen ride.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely have those done. And good luck for you FP! I haven't even started looking at those :-)

I've heard the fajitas are pretty generous, so that if you order extra tortillas and use the condiments bar it's easily split worthy. Would those that have had them agree with this?

So here is a question, what do you do in the down time between doing ADR and FP and then the time between FP and the actual trip. I'll admit that my trip is just under four months away and last night I packed snacks. I'm this close to packing all the shirts, minus four that I need to order. I just bought a new pair of shoes too. The waiting is the worst part. I guess I'll start my toiletries list...

I have the same problem with my 5 year old son. He eats chicken nuggets or fish sticks for every meal. We have BOG scheduled for dinner one night and I guess he will have to fill up on fries.:crazy2:

Last trip I ordered her the macaroni with no sauce (she likes plain pasta) but did not like that was not the right shape. I think the fries are sweet potato and that is a no go too. We will order from Garden Grocer and have apple sauce and yogurt delivered so for the BOG breakfast may just have her eat in the room.

We usually eat most of our breakfasts in our room. When we did BOG breakfast last time the kids had applesauce, juice and yogurt in the room and then shared the pastry plate that comes with breakfast at BOG. I think there was around 5 assorted pastries on it.

The reservation finder does NOT a require a paid subscription, just an FYI. You can sign up for the free account and still access it :)
Thank you for this! Did not realize you did not need a paid account to use this. Created a search for an earlier ADR time that I've been trying to find with no luck. I'll report back if I get one using this!

I used it successfully last fall for BOG and Ohana, and got BOG and sci fi this spring using it for a neighbor. But it was far less widely known then haha!
