Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Happy Sunday everyone!!!! I've been researching and I've never gone in December before this year. I was surprised to see that Candlelight Processional ticket packages require purchasing dinner vs using the dining plan, as for Fantasmic. So, at this point, with 4 Disney adults, I'm not sure we will do the reserved seating or not. Decisions, decisions!!
Hmmm. I'm not having any luck finding info on the CP on DW website. I can get a general description of it under "events and tours" but I don't see it listed as a dining option yet. Care to share where you found that on the site. I'm VERY hopeful to book and ADR w/CP reserved seating. I just thought it was too early in the year and those weren't released yet.

I've always wanted to see the Candlelight Processional it looks so magical! I think it would be a nice start to the Christmas season! We drive from Canada so we usually only go in November. Although we have not had much snow (if any) in December the last couple of years, so maybe we will try for December one year.

I don't understand your comment. You absolutely can use the DDP to pay for CP dining packages. It uses 2 credits per person though, so most people seem to agree it's not the best use of the dining plan.

Sorry, that's what I was trying to say. Whereas for Fantasmic packages you can use 1 credit at a non signature restaurant, you need to use two credits for the Candlelight Processional. Unless it's a special menu, an extra credit for an appetizer doesn't seem worth it to me. So we may take our chances on general seating/standing.

I was looking here and at all ears for information. In the past, it seems that they began offering Candlelight Processional reservations very early in July. I have no idea when they will announce the date this year, but I am not sure at this point which way we decide to go.

If we go to the early show, at 5, you basically eat lunch to get your reserved tickets. Not for a seat, but a section, which the reviews stated were good seats, directly behind the VIP section.

This has been something I've wanted to do since Disneyland started the tradition. So, we will go, I'm just not sure if we will buy dinner OOP or do general seating.

So who's going to be at Pop 9/28-10/4? Going with my DD and her friend and my parents.....Petals anyone? Haha

Iowamomof4 posted a link for November hours on page 28.
Those are probably going to be correct , but they are not official. Plus still no nightime Wishes scheduled?

With all the posdible changes at AK I would feel much more comfortable with WDW official information....

Just FYI, historical data usually shows Wishes on Monday , Wed, Sat .......sometime more often.

I believe those hours are from Disney. I thought I read that those calendars are released by Disney to travel agents.
Wishes will most likely be held on the non party nights.

Thanks. I'm wondering what time the night show will be at Animal Kingdom. When we're at Disney, we're planning on Animal Kingdom on Saturday. Afterwards, I'd go check out Wishes if it isn't over yet!

Been lurking & loving this thread (and all the previous threads.)

I just cancelled CBR w FD (standard room) from Nov 20-Nov 26.
(Went with CSR since we've already stayed as CBR; we wanted to try a new resort.)

I don't know how long it takes to return to the system but hope it helps somebody.

They are OFFICIALLY from Disney to the travel agents. Does that mean they won't change? Of course they'll change. :) But for now, that's what Disney knows about it's hours 6-7 months from now.

OH man I joined this thread so I could be able to talk about my vacation that I just changed the resort on and still be able to the secret on from the rest of the group!!! We are going Sept9-18 and at first I got us preferred ASSp and paid for the upgrade dining (if was our last choice out of 7 resorts). Well after looking and looking CSR finally had a standard available for FD. I tried 3 times to change it online but kept giving me an error saying it couldn't be changed so I called and after 3 minutes on hold I got through with a CM and asked if it was still a valid choice and she informed me that yes it was open. I was able to make the switch!! Even the CM was astonished that a standard CSR became open for FD and told me I was lucky to have spotted that because she hadn't seen any for FD. Once again I joined so I can talk about my excitement of keeping this secret from my group!!!! Now the ? is when to tell them.....?

I had the same problem since Monday nothing was ever available..... Just out of curiosity on Friday morning I decided to look online and saw it so I called and was only on hold a couple of minutes and they had 4 standard rooms with FD at CSR.... I was so excited and my husband was relieved since I had been driving him crazy since Monday and couldn't find anything. :yay:

I don't know how long I can keep it underwraps, I am taking a 4 day trip to Galveston in June with 3 of the group members.... I know they will want to do looking and researching and building up excitement, so I am not sure if I should tell them then or closer to the trip...

Does anyone know if I have to call to make ADR for 8 people or can I do so online?
We made ADRs for our family of 12 all online. Some restaurants (e.g. BOG) force larger groups into specific, less desirable time slots, but I'm not positive which restaurants those are.

If you're not finding what you want for the time you want, you could try two groups of 4 (although you would not be guaranteed to sit together).
