Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

I did my ADR'S today and got almost everything I wanted on the day I wanted at the time I wanted! I couldn't get tusker on saturday, Nov 5 for before 9 am. I could get it any other day of the trip but that one! Even on 11/4. I'm looking for 5 people which can be a little tricky. I'll just keep looking.

One other thing, I couldn't do the whole trip on the app. It doesn't recognize the 180+10 I guess. I used the website and it was actually working great.

How odd--I had exactly the opposite situation! I was not able to get the 180 +10 on my laptop, but I could schedule everything on my iPad. So inconsistent!

I was also not able to get that 8:00 Tusker House! Let's keep hoping!

Thanks! We had a city mini single last time, I will look into the BOB double :)

My grandmunchkins at 7 was 4' tall. I love the city minis. He just was too tall!! BOB is a beast though. He's heavy, but not a problem for the men in our party to handle.

Try booking for a party of 6 and calling to decrease the number also. Not sure why but sometimes I was able to get a table of 6, but not 5

The food was terrible. But I know I am in the minority there. But all 8 of us agreed and had to eat again later because it was gross. The show was fun, the kids love it.
so glad everyone is saying this. It is making my decision easier. Everyone always raved over Biergarten. Guess it was just the atmosphere? I mean I would love to see it, but I just do not like the food! Yuck! I'm sure I could get by on salads, but is rather just try elsewhere I think. Just need to find something that might have a good atmosphere AND good food!

I decided to add WC after seeing all the talk here and then had to move some things around. Tried asking the DD opinions and he just can't wrap his mind around planning dinner for 4 months from now haha. I have them all set..........for now!

the 10 year old in our family got the RO UOC in the mail. usually her mother gets them. still holding out the faint hope that perhaps there will be and FD PIN for the Fall but there have been no rumors.
I received my pin yesterday and it was for RO and FD. Call and see if you have one.

hi all - have been unofficially following this thread (and the one before, and the one before that....). i had yacht club booked with FD for dec '15. i had to cancel as the horrible state of the canadian dollar ate up any/all savings i would have seen from FD. :(

i was hoping to book it again this year but did not stay up till midnight. we are a family of 5 and like food options at epcot so i am stuck on yacht club, want 8 days, any dates eligible of the week before christmas. i found one room but it was preferred room. i really just want a standard room. it appears i am now stalking mydisneyexperience website.... hoping something pops up available....

off to research "PIN codes".... i see this referenced but not sure what they are.. and do i have one??? lol!
Pin codes are offers that are sent out either via email or regular mail. Pin codes could be for RO, FD or any other offer Disney might have. Just call and ask if you have a pin code attached to your name or anyone in your travel party. Don't get discouraged if they say you don't have one when you call, just check back in a couple of weeks.

:thumbsup2
Thank-you so much! I got 3 pins for the summer when I couldn't use them. I am hoping to get 1 for the fall when I could use it!:)
Call and ask. I called in May 2 years ago to see if I had one but I didn't receive the actual card till June.

We've been several times. The show is really fun and I would not really agree that the food is horrible but I'm not going to say it's great either. I think individual impressions of the food depends on a couple things...

1. Do you like German foods (particularly Brats, Sauerkraut, Schnitzel, etc...), if not then it would definitely be a bad choice.
2. If you like German are you accustomed to REALLY good German. If so then again probably not a good option.

Living in the south, German restaurants are pretty few and far between, compared with the ones I've been to in North Carolina it is on par or perhaps even better and it is definitely better than the German restaurant at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. That being said I've been to a couple in the Maryland/Northern VA area where the food is much better than Biergarten and so if that is your expectation then you would be disappointed.

I believe the dates are the same.........8/23-10/1, 11/15-11/21, 11/26-11/28 and 12/10-12/21.

looked more closely at the UOC the 10 year old in our family got and FD is there as well as RO. same dates. we check in 11/12 so won't work.

Definitely agree. The food was mediocre mostly, pretzel rolls are yummy and the spaetzle was damn good. But the meats were tough, the salads were meh, (and cold dressed salads on a buffet sorta freak me out anyway...) and our table mates were rather snoody because they were 4 older adults and we had the kids. We spoke maybe 5 min total the whole time. Just awkward. We won't be back.

We are a family of 4 and not big eaters, do you know if we are allowed to share our Ts meals. Our plan is to eat at Sanaa for lunch and share a couple of curries between the four of us, then have a quick dinner at beaches and cream and share two burgers and the deserts. Is this going to be allowed? Kids are 12 and 14.

i didn't see anyone answer but we have been once in '14 and did share some ts meals... no one mentioned anything or seemed to care? not sure what "policy" is though or it there is one.

thanks for the input - i tried last weekend and *thought* i did get it.... it was about $6500 with 6 day park hoppers and room for 7 nights/8 days. i just didn't have my credit card handy or speak to DH so i thought, got it once, i can probably stumble across it again. now all can get it one week and only more expensive room. sigh. serves me right.

i will keep trying anyway... who knows, right? if i DO get it, it might be some kinda sign that we just HAVE TO GO. fingers crossed...

i got garden view last night!!! and the last time i checked was just yesterday morning. i only got dec 15-21 and was hoping for an extra day... will continue my stalking or see if i can room only for the first day or last day.... thanks for the encouragement guys!!

So, now with our vegan, we went through menus together to see where she would like to eat.

I am now going to try to get TH for a late breakfast. The boys will like it and a good portion of the buffet is vegan, which means no egg. Since she has an egg allergy, this should be a great choice. If we try to get the latest breakfast slot possible, will they politely ask us to leave, if lunch starts coming out?

Hollywood and Dine holiday dinner, for Fantasmic. A friend of hers also has a bad egg allergy, and they offered to make her a few things and a dessert without egg. So she would like to eat here. I would like to do the fantastic package with this reservation. So my fingers are crossed!

Captains Grill, as they have an option that can be modified.

Teppen Edo, although it's not her favorite, but she can get the vegetable meal. We will do this for the Candlelight Processional I hope.

BOG lunch, substituting the onion soup for the cupcake. We may try to schedule this twice.

Wolfgang Puck Express, she doesn't mind pizza without cheese and there are a couple salads also.

Whispering Canyon Cafe as they have a skillet for non meat eaters. Not too excited by this one.

Coral reef as they have a gardiene entree, but the boys really want to eat here also!!!

Columbia Harbour House. Lighthouse sandwich, Yummy!!

So that's 5 plus the Candlelight Processional. I need two more lol.

Ok guys, we just splurged for our first Memory Maker! Any tips? Anybody have this before and have a great or a bad experience? I basically want to hear whatever you guys think, since I now depend on you for all the info! Our girls are 2&6 and this will be the first trip for our youngest and he first trip she remembers for our oldest! I am pretty excited to see what the CMs do for magic shots and whatnot!

Stop for all photographers and don't forget to ask if they do magic shots. Don't be afraid to do different poses either - like family, or just the girls, or one of each, etc. If you are friendly with the photographers and having fun I have noticed they will sometimes do more and go with your playfulness. Also, we love photos we get from character meets - not just the formal ones but the candid ones they take too (DH and I have even been known to end up in some candid ones!). Once home, play around with the borders and stickers that you can add - one some pictures we have a few of each pose with different types of borders, etc. added on. I love it memory maker and won't go without it!
