Fall 2014 PI

Does anyone know if there is some kind of confirmation email regarding the DWS Pro Intern FL v2 application? I received the email saying I need to fill it out, I filled out the form and pressed save, and a screen appeared saying it was successfully saved.

Did anyone else run into this problem? I'm just worried Disney didn't get it, because I have not received any other form of confirmation.

There is no confirmation. And when you go back into it it is blank again. Very disconcerting but if you hit "save" you are good to go.

The legend, it is authorization for a background check. It is a good thing. :thumbsup2

I have been sent this same form 3 times now. I am still in progress with no interview yet. What does this mean?

I am in the same boat. I've been In Progress for 4 PI's since February. I've filled out and saved the background check form twice (for two different PI's) and I haven't even had a phone screen yet. Not sure if I'm out of the running or not? :confused3

I emailed them and made sure they received my form, but as mentioned, no confirmation. I was worried too my from didn't go through. I was also concerned that I may have checked no by accident on fingerprint section. Lol:banana:

I just keep reading how much of a good thing the background check thing is, but haven't made it past in progress. Everyone else was getting an interview first. I don't think ur out of the running unless the job says closed on your dashboard. Or NLIC.

Disney wrote me saying that's the only sure way of knowing.

So I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I did the Culinary CP last summer. My experience wasn't bad but wasn't great either. I just took it as an experience and told myself that I wouldn't do it again. Mainly because of the low pay and just crap that I had to deal with at work on a daily basis (broken equipment, drama with FTers that they felt the need to drag me in to, etc...) But today I got an email from disney recruiting asking me to apply for a Culinary Management PI. At first I was hesitant because I immediately thought "I don't have the qualifications" after looking at the list, I found that I only didn't have 1 of the qualifications. I thought "I'm way to young to be in charge" If I got accepted, I'd be 21 at the time of my PI and I just can't imagine me in a chef coat telling people who are basically a few years younger than me all the way to 30 years older than me what to do. It just seems incredibly surreal that I've even been offered the chance to apply.

I feel like it's such a big jump from a CP cook II (pretty much the bottom of the barrel) to basically being a manager and I feel extremely under qualified. I've been working in restaurants for almost 3 years now, but I've only been a cook.

But I realize that this is an internship... Its a learning experience. I don't know.. I guess i just feel like I'll be thrown in to a situation that I'm really not fit to handle. But then again, they'd teach me the ins and outs of the job right? And yeah I'll be young but most PIs' are.. they only take people that are still in school or 6 months out.

I don't know I feel like im psyching myself out. It would be incredible job experience and great on a resume but I feel like I'm moving too fast in life and I need to slow down and enjoy the ride before taking on so much responsibility. :confused3

Any advice?

You won't know what you are capable of unless you try. These MIs are hard to get so apply and see what happens. Once you get an offer then you can decide but you need to take the first step for that to even be possible. :) :)

im also in the same boat as a previous poster, I'm 'In Progress' for some Professional Internships, but haven't gotten a phone screening interview yet. I feel I am qualified and match all of the job description, Im just hoping my particular department has different hiring practices and is busy and haven't got to the interviews yet. One recruiter said that some internships don't require a screening interview and just pass the application directly to the departments.

No news is good news, but the wait is killing me haha

Good luck to everyone else, waiting!!!

I'm thinking the same thing here. I'm guessing we waived the online interview or what not. I emailed Disney to find out, but nothing. Lol. I think they're tired of me by now. :woohoo:

Is anyone still in-progress for a fall/summer 2014 professional internship? My daughter is still showing in-progress for a PI in California that she applied to at the end of March. She just submitted another application for a PI that was posted on May 9, 2014 for Florida and shows in submission stage for that one.

They both say the approximate start dates are June 2014. I just keep thinking she should have heard something by now. I think I'm almost more anxious/impatient than she is at this point! Is there still hope on these for her?

Thanks!
