Fall 2014 PI

Time for my biannual post.

No one will even look at your application until after it closes. Expect the hiring department to maybe see their first application a few weeks after closing.

When I got my alumni only interview it was mid April. I heard nothing else after my screening interview until then.

No news is good news.

Moving along....

Got an email to fill out the Application DWS Pro Intern FL v2 this morning. :thumbsup2

Now more waiting....

Hey Everyone! I figured people can use as much information as possible I know everyone else is probably as anxious to hear as I am! Here is how my process for this recruiting season has gone:

To begin, I'm kind of an untraditional applicant. I'm currently a Graduate student about to receive a Master of Arts degree. Anyway I applied for roughly 15 PIs (all of the ones I was qualified for). I didn't go NLIC on any of them right off the bat so I suppose that's good news! I went to submission on all of them.

I received a request for a phone interview on February 12th and scheduled it for the evening of February 16th. They made it clear during the interview that it could be used for ALL of the positions I applied to (or any I was being considered for). They didn't ask any job specific questions just general interview questions. I think it went well. The woman I interviewed with was extremely nice and said the last day for people to hear back is May 3rd but she emphasized that this did not mean I would not hear anything before that.

On February 19th I was emailed and asked to fill out and submit the DWS Pro Intern CA v2 application (I think it is CA because the majority of the internships I applied to are creative internships based in California). At this point 3 out 15 internships were "in progress" on my dashboard. I filled it out and submitted it right away and haven't heard anything since EXCEPT to say that now 7 of my positions are now "in progress" (including the Disney College Program which I applied to this evening as a back up and already completed the Web Based Interview and scheduled a phone interview for the College Program only on March 3rd).

So I am essentially stuck in the waiting game now- seeing if I will hear about second interviews for any internships/what being asked to fill out the additional background check applications means!

So much Pixie Dust to everyone else applying and going through this process!

Anyone else have any news or insight to share?!

Hi everyone! I'm Tamara and like you am hoping to be accepted for a PI with Disney.

I have applied for 6 different PI's, all within the HR/Management field. I'm crossing my fingers that it all works out. I've been reading previous posts and see that others are in the same boat I am.

Here's my timeline so far:

2/8: applied for PI's
2/11: invitation for phone screen (I also received two emails)
2/14: phone screen (thought it was going well, by the end I didn't think I nailed it)
2/19: received "Application DWS Pro Intern FL v2" request

I've submitted what was asked, but haven't heard anything. I'm currently "in progress" for one of the positions, in "submission" for two, and NLIC for the other three.

Wishing everyone luck...... and me too!!

It seems like they are sending out a lot of background check applications very early in the process this year...anyone have any idea what this could mean?

Hello Everyone in the PI section!:wave2:

I hope you all are well. This wait is very hard, I am nervous...
I agree there have been a lot of background check forms sent. I got four (I think). I had my phone interview last Friday...almost a week!:hmghost::mickeyjum:stitch::dumbo::earsboy:

I am happy its the 28th tomorrow, that is when a lot of my internships close. How about you guys? Any good (hopefully no bad) news on internships?

More PIs moving to In Progress today. :thumbsup2

I only got one background check email. It was attached to the F&A position but I was under the impression that it was used for all positions, like the initial phone screen. Is that not the case? :confused3

In progress for 4 internships....and I broke down today and applied for the DCP just in case, however I will need to do my own housing. Hope this works out!

Currently in my 4th application process in three years and two CP's with Disney. I applied to serveral CP Alumni-only positions. Last fall I ended up with a second interview that I felt went perfectly and ended up being denied anyway, and now this time I haven't gotten another interview but I received the supplemental application asking if I'd consent to a background check. I haven't gotten this email in any of my previous application processes, so I can only assume it's progress in the right direction.

I'm incredibly anxious as we all are and I feel like I refresh my email every 10 minutes of every single day. I just hope "final decisions," no matter what they may be, come out sooner rather than later. I realize they don't start until May but I'm heading down to Orlando to pick up a job and live with a roommate and would love to know what to expect.

Anyway, although I've been denied a few times before, I remain resilient and will still like my chances of landing one 10 times out of 10. I have the utmost confidence in my abilities as I'm sure we all do...I feel like we can all get stronger knowing we're in this together.

Good luck to everyone :smickey:

Hello Everybody!

Happy weekend!

I was wondering, there is extremely little info on Disney PI's on the internet...it is sad.:headache:
I was wondering if anyone on here knows or has found anything about how the PI housing works? I have found that PI's live at Falcon Square Apartments. This is about a 15min drive to WDW (because I don't know where the PI's job locations are at). I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a city bus system that went by these apartments? Does anyone have any more info on the living situation and or transportation for PI's.

This would be extremely helpful as I sort of feel like I am in the dark with this. I don't want to be in the dark, lol, I want to be bouncy and happy like this Mickey-------->:mickeyjum

Yeah I lived there for the first half of my pi then moved out the second I could.

I don't think there's any lynx buses that go out there. It's kind of the middle of nowhere in the backroads of Florida behind MK.

It's also horrendously overpriced. What me and my roommate paid for one room in a 3 bedroom apartment we now pay total for a four bedroom house.

Thanks for the reply! This helps me...it's not the best of news, but it does help!

Now more waiting....

I have been sent this same form 3 times now. I am still in progress with no interview yet. What does this mean?

Does anyone know if there is some kind of confirmation email regarding the DWS Pro Intern FL v2 application? I received the email saying I need to fill it out, I filled out the form and pressed save, and a screen appeared saying it was successfully saved.

Did anyone else run into this problem? I'm just worried Disney didn't get it, because I have not received any other form of confirmation.
