Hi All,

Just got my offer for the Forecasting/Planning PI. Immediate thoughts - after letting the wonderful news sink in - finding the best possible housing arrangement.

I'm told Falcon Square (the Disney sponsored housing) is $140/week with a roommate (2 bedrooms, 4 people).

If anyone (including myself) wants to look for a roommate and possibly a different living location, post here!

Little info on me: I'm 20 (21 by the start of the internship), male, South Asian, Muslim. Would prefer no smoking, no alcohol, no pets that aren't caged/tanked. My internship is from June 11 to January 3.

Thanks!

It's 140 a week now? Dang. It was like 125 in fall 2012. Even more a ripoff

Well, the whole area back there has completely been revamped and built up since 2012. $140 ain't bad considering the area. Yeah it computes to roughly $2,240 a month ($140 a week x 4 people x 4 weeks in a month), but housing in that area isn't cheap. I'm in a town home down the road from FS and after my mortgage, HOA, and utilities, I'm at $1,800 a month. And i live alone.

It's a guaranteed option and you don't have to worry about a long term lease agreement, worth the few extra pennies in my experience. Plus, it's much better and closer than Cumberland Park. Plus the Slovak shops are incredible.

Hey I am doing the college program this fall and I am really interested in a professional internship. I am an Economics major and am very interested in the forecasting internship.Do you have any suggestions on getting in?

Tried PMing you, but it won't let me due to my post count lol. So here are just some brief points:
  • Your best bet is to customize your resume with key words from the job description
  • Apply early. I applied on the last day of last cycle and didn't even get past screening. This time I applied within the first week and obviously broke through.
  • You've got the CP credential going for you, so you should get a response for some positions. They like to hire within.
