Fall 2012 AP Rates- is anyone else waiting?

So glad they came out today, but they didn't discount a garden view at the Beach Club (although the room is available without a discount for my dates) so I ended up booking the Boardwalk. Is it weird that the WL is more expensive than the BWI? I would have booked WL, but it's about $200 more, and I could not justify that. The other way around, maybe..

From what I have read, WL wasn't discounted as heavily this time around because it is going through a refurb. Perhaps Disney is concerned that a number of rooms will be out of commission? So therefore, they didn't offer a discount. That's my best guess.

Joining the wait for October 4th.....I feel like I have been waiting on this discount forever!!! My guess is August 1.

I feel like a lot of people might miss out on October discounts, simply due to the 45 day window.... which I think is around early August for early Oct.... :headache:

I'm still holding out hope for either GP or AP for Oct 13-20th....

It's very possible for people to be shut out or for there to be a gap. I know, last year there was a gap in the GP discounts -a period in Oct Fall discounts ended and The next wave didn't start. It fell right on top of our trip. We held out as long as we could then booked at Dolphin for a great rate. I'm glad we did, since we weren't covered when they finally did release. A bird in the hand... I never count on Disney discounts.

What happens when your trip dates fall between periods? I am looking at Sept 25 to Oct 3. The first few days are covered until the AP discount, but will I have to have 2 separate bookings to get a discount for the other days? If the discount even applies?

I thought there was a 5 day cancel policy on room only reservations?! Why the heck would they put out a discount that doesn't even apply?? Oh geez@!

Yes, the 45 day deadline only applies to packages.

The discount applied to the rest of the year. There was just a gap of a couple weeks in Oct between discounts. We just happened to fall into it. I'm not really sure if they didn't need the discount for that period. Or they were just slow in getting it out there.

You can only apply one code per reservation. So if part of your days are covered by one code and the others aren't covered at all, then you'll need one reservation. But if your dates are covered by two different codes (AP/GP or by time period), then, yes, you'll need two reservations.

Does anyone know if AP rates were available last year for Columbus week? I would prefer not to go that week, but our fall break was moved to Columbus week this year.

Anyone have a hunch when the next round of RO discounts may hit?

It's so hard to predict because this year's RO discounts are not following previous year's patterns. Last year they released the Oct-Dec RO discounts for AP on 8/3 and GP on 10/5. But that GP release was significantly later than previous years, so even that wasn't really predictable.

But then we look at what they did for this year's fall discounts -releasing GP early and then deeper, but more limited AP discounts later. I don't know that they've ever done that before. So clearly they're experimenting, and who knows whether it worked or not and whether they'll repeat it.

So my guess is that we'll see something by mid-August and that it will cover the rest of the year. But that's just a guess and I'm not even going to try to predict whether it will be GP or AP.

Thank you! We're starting to seriously consider not upgrading to APs this year, but I don't want to lose out on a good discount even if it means upgrading. Ah....the drama of such first world problems....:rotfl2:

Still waiting for those fall AP rates! We're hoping to go October 25-November 1!

We'll be there Oct 27th-Nov 4th. I currently have a bounceback deal booked for that week at POFQ, but am hoping for an AP discount that beats it.

Looking for a AP discount that will beat my 30% off for Animal Kingdom Lodge starting Sepember 30th and going on.

Come on AP, Come on AP discount!

Maybe tomorrow? :) I hope, I hope, I hope.

We now have 2 trips planned Nov 3-12 and Dec 7-11 would love a room discount! When we decided to travel in Dec I was pretty excited to add free dining, but then discovered that it is not available on that weekend either! And are dates are set on both trips so we do not qualify for FD on either-

Do they usually do it on the weekend or during the week, or does it have any rhyme or reason? I always feel like I can take a break on the weekends :) But this wait has been excruciating!!!
