Fall 2008 PIs

Oh, thanks for your help, but a couple of questions:
Is the screening interview when they interview you and let you know if they are going to recommend you to managers?

If so, are they supposed to let you know where to send the application?

After my initial (screening?) interview, my interviewer told me that she was going to recommend me for the second wave of interviews. I found and completed the applications on my profile, but I didn't print them out and send them anywhere. Was that my downfall? (I feel like a ditz right now :confused3 )

Sorry for all the questions, but last semester I waited 50 days before I got a rejection e-mail. I graduate in May, and I can't afford to wait that long when I could be looking for other job opportunities!

Yes the screening interview is the initial interview when they ask just the "housekeeping" questions, if you can do the whole program, whats your major, etc. At the end of mine I was told my information would be passed on to the managers of the different internships I applied for.

As for the application I would definantly print it out and send it to them because from what the email I got says that you won't be considered if you don't send them the application in the mail as well as online.

I hope this helps. I wouldn't worry about it seeing as they get hundreds of applicants for the internships so you are not alone with all the questions. Hope this helps! Good luck. :goodvibes

Thanks so much. I think I'll reserve the rest of my questions for Disney Interns.

I just had my phone interview and a little nervous. I think it went ok. I guess now I wait.....

I submitted my application online last week! Still waiting for a phone call... :rolleyes1 I can't wait! I'm bad about waiting ;)

I got my questions answered by Disney Interns. They actually got back to me the next day - cool, huh?

I added one more to my application list: Communication Technology Internship. I really, really, really want this one, but we shall see.

Still deciding on the last one to apply for. Playing the waiting game in the meantime...

thats ok, disneyscrappingmom... i sent my resume in 4 weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet. im becoming impatient but still hopeful.

Hmmm, 4 weeks is a long wait! Have you emailed them to check on the status of your application? I just got an email saying that they pull the list of applicants every week so it usally only takes a couple of weeks for you to hear back from them. I found out my application status when I emailed questions@disneyinterns.com and they even told me who would be dealing with concerning each of my applications! Good luck to you!! :goodvibes

When it comes to the apply for three rule, do you think it's okay to apply for more of some are summer only and others are fall. There are a couple summer jobs I am interested in and other internships are in the fall. I am not applying to a lot because I want to guarantee a position. I am really only applying to ones I want to do, have a background for, and think would better my career. I am a theatre design and technology major so many jobs can be covered by this. One internship I applied for is in New York with Disney on Broadway so I don't even think it falls under the WDW PI group. The two others that are Entertainment / Theatre related are both summer positions. Then there are 4 that I am really interested in for fall that all have to do with Event planning or Merchandise Presentation Design. I think I did a good job in my cover letter explaining how I believe my degree in Theatre Design relates to them. But if you just pull up my profile / workbench it looks like I am applying for a lot. Any opininons?

I agree, and judging from what others have said in this thread, if Disney was interested I should have been contacted for a screening interview by now. Anyways, I have emailed Mark Hammer and he just says that final decisions are made by April. I guess I won't get an idea either way until then. Sort of inconvenient....

Does anyone know why a professional application pops up in your profile when you click on a internship that you applied for? I'm confused as to whether I should mail in the application even though I haven't received a screening call yet.

TIA!

Hey Sandra!! Good to see your applying for a PI this semester as well!! Did you just apply for your internships? If so there is a short (I think like 10 questions) application to fill out. But if the application is longer than a page or so then I would wait until you get a call.

I just did the first phone interview last week and I was in the same position you are in, I had applied for 5- two being in the summer (I have done an Entertainment Internship and wanted to do another) the interviewer made me decide on my top 3 even though 2 are in the summer... Good Luck deciding!!

YAY! I have my first phone interview tomorrow morning at 11! any advice or thoughts on what they might ask? Funny thing was that they called me for the interview while I was sitting in the orlando airport heading home from an amazing weekend in Disney! Guess it really does happen when youre least expecting it!:cheer2:

No, I didn't get a short app, so I'll wait. Thanks so much for your help. I just hope I get a bite this time.

I wouldn't be too worried at this point. I applied on January 24th and haven't heard anything yet, but I also e-mailed Mark Hammer because I was working with him on something else and he told me that they are still getting through the applications for certain positions-so maybe how quickly you get an interview depends on what you applied for. Anyways, good luck.

So did everyone who interviewed have to fill out the application? How soon after your first interview did you get the application? Did you have it emailed or did it appear on Disneycareers.com?
I had my interview and my interviewer seem rushed! She mentioned the application but then was gone! So now I'm stressing out! :scared1: LoL Any help would be appreciated guys!

now you have me really nervous because I thought my interview went really well but she didn't mention the application:confused3

hope everyone else's interviews are going well!

I wouldn't worry about it, have you checked your email yet? If you don't recieve it within the next few days I would call and ask.

The only way you would not have recieved an email for the applications is if you were not fully avaialble or said no when they asked you about the disney look guidelines.

I just got off the phone with my first interview and nothing was mentioned about an application. Maybe it has something to do with my current seasonal status...
