Fall 09 PI

Does anyone know what the chances are of being offered a full time job after your PI ends? I really am hoping to get a PI for the fall and if I was offered a FT position afterwards I would really consider it, otherwise I am probably going to return to my college I am at now and get my master's degree.

It depends on what position you're going into, how well you do, and how many people you know.

Some positions have regular turnover, or are constantly needing more and more people. Others, especially mgmt positions, are limited in how many they'll hire.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am looking into doing a PI in the finance department. Something in operations accounting, payroll or something in the similar area.

Can't say. Your best bet is try to find someone in the PI you're applying for who was accepted for Fall 08 on this forum. (Not too hard, I found someone who got my PI in Spring 08.)

It's true that it's easier to get hired *period* if you've already been hired. Disney prefers to hire people who've already worked for them which is why people try like all snot to get into the company. Because once you're in, your opportunity to advance in the company becomes WAY easier!

With all that said, if I get accepted for a Spring 09 PI, I'm going to re-apply for a specific PI that I wanted to do that I got shot down for this time around. If I do get it, I'm going to keep renewing until there's a FT position open. If I don't get it, then I'll go FT in the PI I'm already in, and then finish my last year of college in my free time.

What do you mean by renewign your PI can you do that?
what are you in if you dont mind me asking?

It's been done before. And I know several past PI interns who've told me if I want to stay with the company, and there's no FT positions in my internship, that it's pretty much my only option. Unless I get another PI.

I haven't gotten accepted for my PI yet. I've had my 1st interview, and I'm still in the running for 2 PIs I applied for: Stage Tech & Entertainment Production Assistant.

only certain PI's allow that, most want to get new interns and you are left to find a new position. In addition, certain positions will have FT and others PT, but even with those and the economy, it is a lot harder to get FT at WDW, and even sometimes hours as PT...

I'm not worried about it, if I get one of the PIs I currently put in for, I'll be able to make the grade for either another PI, FT, or PT as I've got "mad skillz". :rotfl:

I applied for four professional internships for Spring 2009: financial analyst-pricing, merchandise global planning and pricing, wdtc product development, and travel industry marketing measurements. If I do not get one for Spring I will definitely apply for the Fall.

I can't wait til they post the internships for the fall so I can apply for them. The only thing that worries me is the fact that some people haven't heard anything from Disney about internships for the spring. I hope they don't cut back on internships because of the economy or anything.

I'm currently a CP (Spring Adv. 08, and extended to Jan) at Mission:Space. I'm planning on doing a PI in Fall of 09 since I'll finish my degree in May (FINALLY!). I'm working on going part/full-time right now (or even seasonal...there's just nothing hours wise for anybody right now though) I'm staying in Orlando, just want to wait til I'm done with the degree to do the PI. I really want to do something in Ops Management in attractions or front entrance OR guest relations.

I can't wait til Jan so I can apply :)

Since I'm fairly sure I didn't get the internship I applied for, I do intend on reapplying for Fall 09. I was just wondering if anybody knows whether they're going to want another letter of recommendation, cover letter, and the whole bit?

Hi everyone! I am graduating this May with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I have done 2 College Programs (Spring Advantage 07 - Merchandise, Summer Alumni '08 - MK QSFB) and am really hoping to continue my career with the company! I'm thinking of applying for Guest Relations, Merchandise management, and event planning (I have't decided yet if I want to apply for event planning in the parks or the hotels).
