fake, maybe real (?) *coach* watch battery?

I would say if it is real you should take it to a jeweler, it should not be too much, my David Yurman Watch warranty gets voided if I do not take it to an authorized service location...to change the battery it costs $35, but that includes releasing for the water resistant feature.

I agree - nothing special about Coach watches. They aren't fine timepieces. I'd get the battery changed at the cheapest place I could find.

It's not hard to change a watch battery. You need a really tiny screwdriver to pop the back off and change out the battery. Snap the back back on and your done. I've always changed my own.

The box stores don't allow their employees to change them anymore because the customer could cry damage and the store would be liable. They used to change them but haven't for a long time now.

This is true. I work in the jewelry dept. at a Penney's store. We don't change batteries of watches we don't stock, particularly if the watch is a pricier brand. If the watch is damaged, usually it's the back case that can end up scratched, we can't replace it.

I have a Tag Huer and a nice jewlery store won't even touch it. They send it out to be done. Costs a fortune. I hope your new watch is real. What a great find.

I take my watches to Batteries Plus. They will change it for me and they are very reasonably priced.

DH got me a fake Movado when he was overseas - I needed a new battery and the place he took it to wasn't even going to change the battery or charge a crazy amount to do so - My DH had to tell them it was a fake and then they changed it.

Since coach watches are in the $300 - $500 range most real jewelers will probably change it for you for a reasonable fee. It's the one's that get over $1,000 where you have to go crazy finding a place to change the battery and even then if you go to an authorized repair shop it's not that much. My mom's Baume-Mercier only costs about $25 to have the battery replaced when she goes to the repair center (I don't even want to think about what that watch is worth  - it's solid gold). Compared to my Tiffany that's cheap. It costs over $100 to have that serviced.

It's probably real. I've never heard of fake Coach watches. Fake things are usually made for very expensive items. Just tell the mall people or whoever that you won't hold them liable if they break it.
