Has anyone seen families trying to use the fastpass line without fastpasses? This isn't the first time I've seen it but...when we were walking through the fastpass line for Splash Mountain, a family joined us right before you head into that barn area (probably thinking they already had checked our fastpasses, haha!) and said "Let's go, we have fastpasses" in the obvious "No, we really don't but let's see if this works" kinda way and when they got to the CM who was taking them, they were sent all the way back. Haha! It has 4 adults and 6 kids. Great example for your kids! :sad2:

I have seen this as well I am so glad they check at the end. I have seen them just make people leave.

I noticed over Labor Day Weekend that CMs seemed a lot more strick with every line - including the Monorail at MKT&T which I was happy about. :thumbsup2

FP has always been set-up with the final FP entrance CM at the end near the attraction, just for this reason.

FP was well-researched by Disney and the "loopholes" patched even before it was publicly announced.

I'm sadden that you were so happy by someone's embarrassment you were so happy that they were send back and i can tell by the excitement in your writing just how happy it made you, before we judge this family, was it their first time in Disney and had no idea what a fast pass line was? i sure hope i'm not the only disappointed reader here.

The way I understood it, the OP knew absolutely that the family knew what a fastpass line was, and that they were trying to "get away" with something. I don't think it was meant to be an ill-natured post (at least I hope not). It's usually pretty easy to tell when someone really doesn't know what's going on, and when they're trying to pull a fast one. :thumbsup2 I've seen this before too, by the way.

I think that a lot of people try this on their first fast pass ride, but I do think tht others just try to get away with it.

As we all know there are those people who try to cheat the system with everything and there are honest people.

Hopefully that family used the fast pass system at the next available attraction.

You are the only disapointed reader here. They obviously knew what they were doing since the OP said they tried to act like they had fastpasses and were skipping the line. If you didn't know what a fastpass was what would make you think you were intitled to skip the line and use the fastpass line? The regular line is much more obvious and visable than the fastpass lines.

We've seen this at Disney and also it happened to us at Universal. People would jump the lines, not realizing that at Universal, they check at the beginning and again before you get on the ride. We saw one group of teenagers that were sent back after standing 20 min in the priority line...the regular line was over 1 hour...sometimes there is justice in the world :thumbsup2

I saw it at Splash Mountain also. The lady was by herself and was stopped because she didn't have a fastpass. She was sent back and not allowed through after trying to argue with the CM.

I have to say that I am not disappointed. I don't think it was the embarrassment that excited the OP but rather the fact that after seeing someone who more than likely knew that they were doing something they shouldn't get called on it. There are barriers that you have to go over or under. The fast pass lane is not something that you "just wander into" by mistake. My impression would be that they saw a way to "save some time". I have seen it happen and it doesn't leave me with a "warm fuzzy" feeling. I feel frustrated because someone who isn't playing by the rules is getting away with it.

This time they had to play by the same rules that we are all supposed to follow and that would be where my pleasure would come from.

Embarrassment is an excellent "punishment" for bad behavior.

If more people thought they'd get a publicly negative reaction to cheating, there would be fewer instances of attempting the unacceptable behavior.

"Feeling sorry" for wrong-doers and ignoring the feelings of those playing by the rules contributes to the problem.

I have a feeling you are not being truthful about your post but are just trying to "stir the pot."

But, this pot's subject will stir itself, quite nicely.

Count me as another who takes pleasure in seeing those who cut corners at the expense of their fellow man get what's coming to them, and the more public and humiliating the better.

If yo read the OP she clearly states,
"Let's go, we have fastpasses"
was said. So they not only knew fast fastpass was, but knew they didnt have them and thought they were pulling a fast one.

The CM did the right thing. And I applaud them for it as it would have been easy just to let it go this once and not deal with it.

He said he heard them say "Let's go, we have fastpasses." They knew what they were doing.

LOL, good way to put it, Bill!

I have seen people try this and they weren't first time visitors. (I HEARD the mom say to the Dad "just tell them the last guy took it" Mom then tried to YELL at the CM who held his ground and they headed back with Mom saying "I am NEVER COMING TO THIS RIP OFF AGAIN... Good riddance!)

I also saw the AP holder YELL at the CM that "As an AP holder I get UNLIMITED FP access at ANY TIME." THe idiot then pretended to write down the CM's name so she could complain to Guest Relations!
