And perhaps a few prayers.

We leave tomorrow and I was so excited but...

Now my grandpa is in the hospital. AGAIN. He has been so sick for so long but now it is getting worse. His heart rate and blood pressure are dropping and he is starting to bleed internally. His body is litterally GIVING UP.

I am so terrified that something is going to happen while I am gone. I don't have the money to grab a flight out of Orlando to come back here for a funeral.........once I am in Orlando...I am stuck there for the rest of the month. I could never forgive myself if I was gone while he passed.

What started out as a very happy and sunny day has now turned into a very sad day.....waiting for some clouds...

I am so sorry to hear this. Can you postpone your trip?? It sounds like that might be the best option. Good Luck.

I am so sorry to here this.:grouphug: I am sending you pixie dust.pixiedust: I will keep you and your grandpa in my prayers.

Thanks for your thoughts guys :)

Unfortunately, no, we cannot reschedule, because my boyfriend's work has planned everyone else's vacations around his. It is a very small company.

Just nervous and worried.

I understand your situation. Many years back, my grandfather passed away while we were on a Disney vacation. We got the call on DH cell phone while we were standing in line for an attraction in Tomorrowland. We, too, couldn't leave in the middle of our trip and missed the funeral. It definitely affected the tone of our time there.

I have prayed for you as I hope this does not end up happening to you.:wizard:

I didnt mean to sound like Debbie Downer but this did happen to me. My mom passed away while we were in Disney. We had to leave. I got the call while we were in "The Living Seas" I am glad they redid the place it had to many memories for me the old way. The airline did let us rebook for free and Disney refunded all our unused days and our Hoop De Doo ticket. So we didnt loose out and could reschedule our trip at a later date for the unused days. I will keep your family in our prayers.

My uncle died while I was on my honeymoon in Hawaii and we could not leave. My DH and I felt really bad about not attending the funeral. There was no way we could get a flight back in time.

So sorry to hear this.

Hope this does not sound morbid....my Grandmother died last year on Halloween. My aunt (her daughter-in-law) had a trip planned that started that day before the funeral, it was a tour so she could not just postpone. We encouraged her to go. She spent quality time with my Grandmother before she died, and my Grandmother would have wanted her to take the trip. It is my belief that funerals are really for those left behind and you can find many ways to honor the person that has passed besides being at the funeral.

Just another perspective.

So sorry to hear this Cathie. I'm wishing you all the best in a difficult time.

I'm so sorry. I hope everything works out okay. I'll be thinking about you.

I am hoping that you don't get the call but if you do, don't beat yourself up about it. There are so many way to honor a person if you can't be at the actual funeral.

pixiedust: My thoughts and prayers are with your family that you do not get the call when you are gone. I do agree with previous posters, if something does happen there are many more ways to honor him if you do not make it to the funeral.

Lots of prayers and good thoughts coming your way! Hang in there!
