I saw the info about the FairyTale Package.
Is it really a better deal? We are going in Oct - just not sure
if it is a better deal than using the discount codes when
they come out later in the year or getting the
AAA discount.

Is it a good deal???????

It's a GREAT deal because you not only get the discount off of the room - but you also get the discount off the tickets. Essentially 3 nights room & 3 park days free if you book for 7 nights. See the write-up on mousesavers.com. Mary says it all.

Our example, we were going in July & I had booked a 1-bedroom villa at OKW. The room ONLY with the AP discount (usually the best) was $2700, I cancelled that I booked a 7 night Fairytale package for $2568.00. This INCLUDES the UPH's for 8 days. Yeah! Your results may vary depending on how many days you are going, but I'd check into it.

As of now, the FTP is the only discount that Disney is offering for the month of October. So at the moment, it's a better deal then paying full price. (Not sure what you meant by, "Is it really a better deal?" That's the only answer I could think of. :))
The FTP is 43% off room & tickets for a seven night stay, so it's a pretty good deal if you haven't purchased park tickets yet.

You didn't mention that you were an annual pass holder. If you are, then AP discounts might be a little better then the FTP. But at the moment, AP discounts aren't out for October.

If you are talking about room only discount codes, don't hold your breath. They may not come out. Disney's FTP can be booked thru Oct. 30th, (within your travel dates). Must book by June 29, I believe. Room only discount codes may come out later to fill rooms that the FTP didn't. If the FTP becomes very popular, there is a possibility of no general codes for a long time. Or if they do come out, room availablitly will be VERY limited due to others booking the FTP.

Hope this helps,

I was pricing vacations for awhile before we booked ours. When the FTP came out and I priced it and couldnt believe the savings.
To sum our vacation up. Org price for our 6 day and 5 night trip was (2250 rounded out) with the FTP 8 days and 7 nights was(1700.00) thats at the AKL. So we are saving around 500 dollars and getting 2 xtra days out of it.
IMHO I think that the FTP is the way to go.

Last night I was board and started pricing the vacations regular price and FTP price with some other resorts and the savings depending on which resort that you chose had a savings of anywhere from 475.00 and up.
