Fairytale Package vs. doing everything separate

In the past 25 years I have stayed off site 3 times and on site so many times I could not even begin to count, and for me....I would never stay off site again. IMO, it is a completely different vacation when you stay off site. You lose that feeling of total disney emersion. I always felt more like a day tripper when I stayed off site, it does not feel as though it is my home for the trip. Heck, I even stay on site when I am in the area for business and the seminars are held AT Courtyard by Marriott!! Doing it again this Sept, matter of fact, the seminar is at Courtyard by Marriott and I will be staying at WDW.

In your case, spend the extra $300.00. I agree staying on site is the best, free drink refills, transportation, magic!!!!!!! However, for us the FTP was a lot more than we're spending with our current reservations. We are staying for 9 nites, so we pay for 6 and get 3 free...but only planned on doing parks for 5 days (no Disney Quest or waterparks) so we only needed 5 day hoppers. Still, I feel like I'm missing out on a great deal!

I would suggest to post on both boards the same. I bet that post the same question on the Orlando and attactions board will stay offiste save the 300.00 dollars for a couple of nice dinners.

I would go for the cheap rate and have the 300.00 dollars for emarpency money.

That's just me.

I am staying at the All-Star Music Resort for th July 4th weekend myself. If I had a chance to the 20.03 rate July 4 I would take it.

Ask your self is the majic worth 300.00 dollars to you. If so go for it. If not save the money.

I gotta agree with dgaston! The magic is where you make it. I stayed at the POFQ and I was really disappointed. I was in a really bad mood though (we were both sick, and our flight was cancelled....we really just wanted to get home) so I'll be trying a Disney resort again, but have had no problems with the courtyard.

Having said that though, if I had the money, I would definitely be booking a fairy tale package. Since the passes are such a huge expense, the 3 free nights are definitely worth it.

BUT, BOOK THE PACKAGE BEFORE YOU CANCEL YOUR COURTYARD RESERVATION!!!!!!!!!!! The FTP is really popular, and some folks are having a hard time booking it. Make sure you've got it before you let go of that Courtyard rate.

Yes, you are spending $300 more, but you are getting more park days and fleixbility. You also can do the waterparks. Were you going to rent a car? Parking at the parks is around $7 a day if offsite. At the ASSp you don't need a car. The courtyard is a great deal, but their buses don't run as often and stop at each hotel. I have stayed at both resorts an I would stay at the ASSp hands down becasue of the magic you can't get offsite!
