Fairytale Package : Non-DC : GOT IT

We got the FT package at the AKL for 8 nights- 2 adults and a 3 yr old. The price with tax was $1988.81 this included a 9 day Uhopper.

Was this a good price?

We had booked a room only at ASMo which was about $800 for the 8 nights and had to still buy our passes. I was figuring about $1600 for the 3 of us, room and tickets. Budget trip this year. LOL

My hubby said book it, but I'd have to give up most of my char. meals. It's a huge upgrade for us, never stayed in a deluxe before, so I'm not sure if we got a good deal or not. FYI- We never book packages, because most of the time we can do it cheaper on our own.

Any thoughts?

Just got WL Courtyard view for Sept 21-28 2 adults...$1686.97!!!!!!!!!! WOWWWWWWWW!

I am so excited!

Changed my room only ressie to FTP this morning. POR Sept 27-Oct 4, 2 adults and 8 yr old for $1446.59!! I am happy!!
But I was on the phone for 1 hour! Mostly on hold!!

Standard view, sorry forgot that. So basically views of wild car animals. LOL

I also booked this morning - I was on phone for 1 hour!!!!!!

I booked WL for August 9-16 and got FT pkg for $1,671.11 w/o travel insurance, air, transfers, etc... Make sure your doing the math though, because we are actually coming in on August 8 and when quoted a 8 night package it was $1,988.81. I already had reservation through CRO for 8 nights at $169/night (AAA rate). So it was cheaper to take 7 night pkg and keep 1 night through CRO. I haven't cancelled my CRO ressie though. I figure I'll hold onto if better room rate comes out and we save even more. But, she did cross reference my WDW Travel Co & CRO ressie.

One word of advice, it took awhile to find a reservation, they are booking up quickly. I made reservation at 8:00am this morning.

My hubby called (real early out here), and I told him to ask about a 2 bdrm "just in case" they would give us a discount. 2 adults, 1 child (11) for 7 nights (8/2 - 9) was 2973.17 (no travel ins, no airfare, etc). They also quoted a 2 bdrm at BWV for 3267.45, and Ft. Wilderness cabin was 1858.21 (same scenario as above). Since we may be adding people to the package, we went with OKW. I won't believe it until my confirmation gets here!!!

Thanks everyone!!! :bounce:

Booked 7 nights at Polynesian LV Concierge - arriving Oct 1 gets us value rates! $2737.69 - savings of $1700 over Dream package!

Wonderful CM Roma confirmed it is WDTC only.

Called at 7 this morning and got a daft CM. She said that CSR was available from Aug 20 - 27th Waterview with FTP, exactly what I wanted!! Anyways, a few minutes later she told me it was NOT available!!

I had to go to school (in gr.12, graduating High School this year) and my mom kept calling.

Well at 9:30 my mom got through and asked the exact same thing, Aug 20 - 27th CSR Waterview FTP and.....WE GOT IT!! Dunno what that CM's problem was??

Anyways, we got it for a rate of $1811.21 for 2 adults and 2 17 year olds.

Compared to what we had before, rack rate Waterview at CSR and intention of buying 4 - 5 day PHP passes we end up saving 496.18!! I'm sooooo happy with that! We get better passes then we were intending to buy AND this is the first time we've EVER used a discount

TY Dizzy!! You are right. I had originally booked 8 nights at AKL for 2 adults and our 3 yr old. Standard view, Oct. 1-9. I was quoted 1988.81.

I figured it out and just saved another $100 by changing it to a 7 night package with one night room only. Hopefully a room only rate will come out so I can save some more money. LOL

Thanks again Dizzy for pointing out the rate breakdown.

Just got off phone with WDTC and was able to change my original ressie with CRO for 7 nights at WL (8/24 - 8/31) which had a AAA discount applied. She gladly switched my ressie to Fairytale Package for $1883 (2 adults, 2 five year olds). Is1222: we too were doubtful that this package was a good deal for us. We were planning to get 5 day hoppers only and maybe even buy an AP to get a better rate on the room. With the current AP rate posted for 7/4 - 8/23 of $114 (WL) and the 5 day hoppers, we'd be spending $1821. . . now we're only spending $60 more! Just do the math for your own situation and see what works for you! Good luck! Not sure BTW why they are letting the public book before the 11th? My CM was super and I wasn't even on hold! :p

I know that I saved some money. I had ressies made (room only) through CRO, 6 nights, 2 BR BCV. So that would be $3,642. I was given a price of $4009.83 for the Fairytale Package which included UHPs for 2 adults and 4 of our kids (17, 13, 12 and 7) so the difference is $367. Not too shabby. That more than pays for my park passes. I was only going to get a 6 day hopper plus pass and then pay extra for us to go to Disney Quest. I think I saved for sure, especially since I have read that there would be a possibility that I would NOT get a code or discount for getting a 2 BR villa. I am happy. I did have to loose out on the 5 day before cancellation and I have to have it all paid 45 days before arrival.

she said that it was listed as pending in the system but eventually it was supposed to be offered as 21 day prepay-not 45 day. I asked her about that because I'm not a disney club member and she said that yes, I could call back later and could change it to 21 days. Huh?

45 days for me is less than 2 weeks! I need to get another job and quick. LOL.

Our deal is 2 wv rooms @ Coronado Springs - 2 adults/4 kids for $2,900 or so. Don't remember the exact number. Rack rate is $2200 plus tax w.out tickets so this is an awesome deal to me.:smooth:

We made ressies yesterday morning (after waiting on hold for 20 minutes) for 4 adults and an infant at ASMo 7 nights/8 days for a total of $1818.29 (October 5 - 12). Everyone in our group is so happy because had this package not come along, we would be staying off site and for not as long. I am so happy for everyone that this package is working out for. See you all in DISNEY WORLD!

We skipped the long phone waits and booked ours through Dreams Unlimited on the internet. Two adults, 7 nights at BC, $1860.55! Did we save $$? Well, yes and no - we had originally planned to go for 5 nights, AAA discount, plus an additional day at Sea World and one night off-site at a cheaper place. We also have 4 days each of WDW passes left from previous trips, so we may have had to buy an additional day while we were there. With the package, we're paying $215 more, but getting two more nights at BC plus the passes. So even though we're paying more than we had planned, we're staying longer AND we'll still have 4 days of tickets left for our next trip!
Let's see... staying longer on WDW property, skipping Sea World... guess Disney is accomplishing their goal for this package!

Thanks guys. I'm still debating. The package may be to our advantage if we cut one of our nights at Universal. I guess I need to decide if the UPH would be good for us. I'm very glad this package is working for alot of you.

I just read this post and had to call my travel agent. We are going on the 4 night land 3 night cruise in August. My agent called Disney cruise line and got them to drop the land portion of the package and give us a refund. Then she booked the land portion at CBR for 3 extra nights at less then our refund. More money to spend and more time to spend it in. Only trouble is I now have to refigure all my ps's that ive made already around the 4 night stay.
