We're going in 24 days   and for one night while we're there we're going to get together with my brother and SIL for adult only dinner. (No flames please!:goodvibes ) We're planning on leaving the kids with a sitter service. There will be our DDs (8 & 10) and my brother's DS (4 1/2). These are the 3 services I've heard about most. For those who have used any or all of these, which would you recommend or not recommend, and why? Also, if you have used anyone in particular and loved/not loved them, I'd love names if you remember.

Thanks so much!! We are so excited about the trip!!:cool1:

PS - I know we could do the kids clubs but the kids really would prefer a sitter.

Miss Ginny from KNO!! OMG -- she was AMAZING!! We had never left our two young girls with anyone except for Grandma and close family friends, never a teenaged babysitter or anyone from a service that we hadn't met. Believe me, I WAS NERVOUS. My anxiety lessened after I talked with the kind folks on the phone at KNO. I loved how they called our room the day prior to our date and told me who would be coming over, etc.

Miss Ginny arrived with two roller suitcases of toys, dolls, games and books, along with her 30 years of childcare experience, and she exceeded every one of our expectations.

My 6yo daughter asked me this later that night:

My Daughter: "Mom, ask me if I liked Miss Ginny"
Me: "Did you like Miss Ginny?"
My Daughter: "No, Mom...I LOOOOOOVED Miss Ginny!!!"

I don't have any other experience with childcare at WDW, but we had such an amazing experience with KNO and Miss Ginny. We hope she is available to come to our room on our next visit. :)

Good luck! Trust me when I say you will LOVE having an adult night out on your trip!!

I would say KNO after we used them last Sept. DW and I went out for an adullt only dinner at Narcossesse's (spelling?). She arrived 15min early, brought activities for the kids to do and the kids had a blast. When we got back she had them all asleep. We will use them again.

Thanks, guys! I'd still love to hear any other recommendations if anyone has more!

can I ask what KNO stands for and how much do these services run? Sorry to horn in on your thread. :guilty: Thanks.

I would also like to know about KNO...I am thinking of surprising my husband with a dinner out too.

Thanks!

I've not used any of the services yet, but was thinking about it for our upcoming trip. I priced Kids Nite Out: 2 kids ($16.50 per hour), 4 hour minimum ($66) + traveling fee ($10) & tip ($10), it would end up being around $86.00 for 4 hours. Yikes! I'm not sure if our budget would cover that! I have a feeling that we'll just do the comedy club and Adventurer's club with the kids, then call it a night.

It would be nice to have an evening alone, but I'm afraid that at that price I would be watching the clock rather than having a fun time.

This is standard for most resort-type settings; and all the Orlando agencies have about the same price.

We do it at least once or twice a trip and consider it worth it; it is pricey though. But we don't get the DDP, and we have DVC, so we economize that way.

We've used Kid's Nite Out and love them. We asked for someone young, because it was during the day and our kids are very energetic. The good thing about KNO is that you don't have to tell them what time you're coming back. YEA!! No clock watching..!!!! We went and spent the morning at a theme park, because we needed some alone time. Then came back, mid day and took the kids back with us. It was great. We had 2 girls that we left with the sitter and just split the cost. It was myself and another mother. So it worked out great for us and I will be calling them again for sure.
About our sitter. We actually got a guy. His name is CY- pronounced like Sigh. We've used him several times. And on his days off, he works for Disney. We love him! Good luck with whatever you choose. Lisa
