Anyone have a website for Fairy Godmothers or any other inroom sitter you have used and really liked? DH and I are going for an Adventurers Club romp this trip and we are staying DVC so no kids club on site. We are looking at the in-room option.

Thanks!

kidsniteout dot com;)

we have used them 4+ times and always been very pleased.
have fun!!

I didn't realize that if you are staying at a DVC you aren't able to take advantage of a Kids club? We are staying in a BCV in Sept. and we were planning on doing a Kids Club at least once during our two week trip.... this is the first that I'm hearing of this?

You can use the Sandcastle Club at BC.
But keep in mind they close at midnight and children have to be ages 4-12. Also, with a larger # of children, KNO is more cost effective than the Kids Clubs.

You can use the kids clubs if you are staying DVC. All of the on-site kids clubs are open to all on-site guests regardless of which resort they are staying at except the GF one. That's limited to guests of the GF and V&A's, I think because it really can only hold about 15 kids, it's small.

My guess is that the OP is staying at one of the DVC resorts that doesn't have an open kids club.

To answer the OP, many years ago we used one of the in-room services and were pleased with the girl who came. We left money for the arcade and a snack. She took our son to the arcade for awhile until he burned through his money, then got a snack. The change was with the receipt on the table when we got back. She was studying and our son was sound asleep.

We used kidsniteout in October and were pleased. We plan to use them again in December for our one evening out.

We used Fairy Godmothers and they sent over an older sitter (50ish) who came with a bag of toys, books, etc. She took our kids around the resort (arcade, playground) and even watched the electrical parade with them. I was happy with it.

We also used Fairy Godmothers last year. Our two youngest were too little for kids club. The sitter was nice. I wouldn't give the office staff that schedules an A+ in customer service, I kinda felt nervous that they would forget my arrangements but the sitter showed up right on time.

If they fairy godmothers are babysitting at night, will they put your kids to bed? My kids don't need any kind of special routine, but I know they'll be tired. Do the godmothers have a problem telling them to laydown and she can just watch tv till we get back????

Yes. That is exactly what they do. With Kids Nite Out, the sitter asks exactly what it is you would like for them to do. They have always been very responsible and preofessional. One woman told me, if you want me to sit in the dark with my book, I will do that (if the baby can't fall asleep easily with a light on). They will take them to the arcade or for a walk or to the playground but they cannot take them to the pool or bathe the (obviously a safety/drowning issue); when you return the siter will have filled out a sheet with specific times and things that transpired (when and how much they ate; any separation anxiety situations, etc.) I have really been happy with the service.

They wont give them baths, but there's no problem with older kids who would normally shower on their own doing so while they are being watched. Our son was about ten when we had a in-room service (so we could stay out past midnight) and he showered while we were out.
