Exchange rate dropped today. It hit a 12 month high yesterday at $1.67470, dropped back to $1.66680 today.
I still haven't paid my cruise off for Sept so hope it stays up there. Would be nice to get around $1.67

Going to London in a few weeks so might be an option for me, need some Dollars & Euros, looks like you just order online to get the better rate then pay cash or debit card on collection.

Nope, not used them. Pretty good rate though. I only needed a couple of hundred ££ worth of dollars so went with Sainsburys as Post Office minimum order was £500.

I use them ALL the time Wayne as do the cast majority of people I work with ....... and I work for a bank ! Definitely order online as they offer you a better rate and then you go to one of their retail shops to pay over your money and collect your currency. Just one piece of advice take your ££ that you are converting in cash as if you use your debit card it counts as a cash withdrawal.

One other thing you have to do your online order on the day you collect.

Can't remember last time I bought currency(4-5 years?), always use credit card but I like to pay cash for tips on the cruise, I know I don't need to but something I have always done.

I always use my debit card for currency purchases and never been charged, although a couple of times I have been warned that my card provider could count it as a foreign transaction and charge me the associated fee. That hasn't happened though - I bank with Halifax and First Direct.

I can only pass on what I've seen and heard on many occasions. Every time I've been in the queue and a customer says they are paying by debit card they suggest to the customer that they go and withdraw the cash from their nearest bank as they would be charged for using their debit card.

Other than that I would recommend to anyone to use use them as they always seem to offer a very good rate and if you can use the Cannon St. Branch there is usually not too long a queue. From experience the Liverpool Stn branch is always at least a 30 min wait as the queue is always long and I can't comment on the other branches as I haven't used them

I will have to try work out where we are going and when. It will be Easter weekend, I know Saturday and Sunday evenings will be taken up with the theatre (Jersey Boys & Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) but no other plans yet. I would like to see David Bailey's Stardust exhibition if possible.

We are seeing Charlie and Chocolate Factory on 9th April. Meant to be very good. Loved Jersey Boys.

I will be in town next Monday and intend to change some money up at one of the bureaus. Seen good rates so many times and now I am wondering why I always change it up through the post office!!
