Fairfx Question

I am thinking of getting a Fairfx card for my trip to WDW in August but I was wondering is it possible to have two cards that both refer to the same account? This would be very handy as it would mean that my wife and I could both have a card to use if we are apart for any reason. We are staying at SSR so I suppose one way we could deal with this would be to charge all of our purchases to our room and then settle the bill with the Fairfx card, does this make sense or are there any hidden costs that I am missing?

the only charge we encountered was the atm charge

Using it like a debit/credit card is charge free and is accepted anywhere that accepts mastercard, we had no problems in disney or mexico

Hi - Yes I got sent two cards - but each had a seperate account! They easily transferrred the balance from one to the other though.
We now use just two of them, mine and the OH - we use one to pay for hotels (big spends) and the other for shopping and general bits, that way we are not walking around with a mega loaded card...

Having 2 accounts can be handy if one card is lost or stolen - you at least have one that is not attached to the stolen/lost one?

Does anyone know (without me delving through the terms and conditions) if you can transfer money from one FairFX account to another?

It works like a regular MasterCard without the credit facility. It's fine to use it online.

Quick question, I have a fairfx card, next year I am staying onsight for the first time, can you use your fairfx card in the same way as your credit card on your key to the world card for spending on that?

I don't think you can use your Fairfx card to secure spending on your KTTW card (although I am prepared to be corrected on that one) but you can definitely use it to settle any balance, which is what we did.

We put our credit card against spending on the room but then settled the balance using our Travelex money card when we checked out.

i'm not sure as they take an amount and charge it but dont actually take it form your card so I guess you would just have to be aware that disney have an amount pending on your card

its 1.47 now so might be worth topping the cards up

You can use it for your KTTW card but there will be a shadow for that amount on your card for your whole stay.

So for example, if you have $2000 on your card, and want to have $500 for the your KTTW card, you will only be able to spend $1500 on your fairfx card until you check out.

So you can either leave another credit card, or make sure you have enough on your card to cover the shadow.

I have no other credit cards and have had a hard enough time saving as it is, so I won't be charging to my KTTW card.

Thank you both. It's only for next august but I'm always keeping track of it and if it goes any higher ill be topping up don't want any huge drops. I have some money on from last year still so thats good.
