Have you ever stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Valdosta GA? It's at exit 18. We will be stopping there overnight on our way down to WDW. I was just wondering if anyone has any reviews for it. I found a few places considerably cheaper, but I was too scared to try them. $69 isn't too bad if it's not a roach motel. Thanks for any help.

I'm curious to here about this place also...
We need somewhere to stop on our way down...
When are you going??
Maybe we'll be going at the same time...

We will be stopping over at Fairfield INN on April 19. We hope to arrive at WDW around noon the 20th. Easter Sunday.

You're leaving 2 weeks shy of us...
Actually we're heading down to the Smokey Mountains this weekend...
You'll have to let me know how the hotel is when you come back...
I'd drive straight thru but MIL will be with us and it might be too long for her...:)

I never stayed at the Fairfield Inn, but I've stayed at the Hampton Inn in Valdosta. It's really nice. I believe it's on exit 5. Right off I-75, next to several restaurants - Pizza Hut (dinner) and Cracker Barrel (breakfast next morning) I know for sure. It's an interior corridor hotel, so that makes me feel safer.

Amazingly, YES! Wow, what are the odds.

Anyway, it was about 4 years ago, but it was okay. They had *just* cleaned the carpets and it smelt *sooooo bad.* Of course that would be an isolated incident and 4 years later they're not going to still smell, LOL. We got moved to another room that hadn't been cleaned and the only thing wrong with it was that it was upstairs and there were no elevators and we had the heaviest cooler in the world (since we were travlelling all the way from up here) that was almost impossible to lug upstairs. All in all I remember it being a fine hotel... clean enough and all of that. Easy access to the highway. Continental breakfast. And most importantly... you get to Disney by mid-day the next day! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I'm glad to know that it's at least livable, lol. After researching some of the hotels in the area, that was one of the few that actually had some decent reviews. I was hoping maybe a couple more people had stayed there recently but I'm pleased to know that it won't be so bad. I've already made the reservations for it. I was worried with it being Easter weekend that we'd be left high and dry looking for a place to stay the night if I didn't. Thanks again.
