My AAA agent has told me about some deals at these 2 places.
The Fairfield for $70 including taxes and the Courtyard for $100 including tax.
Which is a nicer place or is it worth $150 extra to stay at the Courtyard?
what are these places really like? Anyone stay lately?

Thanks, YO

We stayed at the Springhill Suites in Marriott Village. The "village" is those 3 hotels together in a semi-circle. It was a very nice property, well-kept, clean, and extremely close to WDW. You're just an exit away on I-4 from the Disney entrance. I don't think you need to "upgrade" to the Courtyard. The Fairfield actually provides a free continental breakfast, which the Courtyard does not. You won't be sorry if you stay here, and those seem like good prices.:thumbsup2

Lucky's Mom,
Thanks for the info. When you say they are together, are they close enough to walk to the others to use their facilities and do they share pools? Are there restaraunts in them? Is the food court for all of the hotels and they share or what? Also what is the difference in the 2 places? What makes it an upgrade? The price difference also includes breakfast at the Courtyard.
I am going to be alone while I'm there as DD is playing Volleyball and will be staying with the team someplace else. Which is nicer to enjoy with that in mind?

Thanks for your help,

YO

I'm not really an expert on this property...but here's what I know. There is a food court that all 3 share, but each has their own pools. Double check that the Courtyard rate you got includes breakfast, because even though they mention breakfast on their web-site, it is something you pay for and not complementary. If you go on the marriott.com website, and pull up that Courtyard property, click photos...you can see the exterior 360 degree view that shows the "circle" and all 3 properties. They are absolutely in walking distance to each other, very close. I don't know if you can pool hop. I work for Marriott, and the only reason I said "upgrade" to Courtyard is that it is considered a level above the Fairfield. It is geared toward business travelers. It will be a little nicer than the Fairfield, but not alot. It depends on if you think the $ difference is worth a small upgrade in hotel features.

Making sure you are comparing apples to apples....there is another Courtyard off of Palm that typically runs specials for free breakfast; it's possible that's the Courtyard your TA is referring too?

The Fairfield is nice enough; I wouldn't pay the extra (unless getting a suite room at the Palm Courtyard instead). We did have a very nice room at the Marriott Village Courtyard once, with an outdoor balcony that overlooked the pool area; but again, I wouldn't pay extra just for that.

You can pool hop between the 3 pools in the village; the Courtyard pool is the nicest, with waterfall and an indoor/outdoor swim area; several tables w/ chairs amid the palms, a nice place to hang out if the weather is nice.

The food court is okay, nothing to write home about. It sits between the Courtyard and Fairfield for easy access. We got a pizza there one evening and ate it at the pool. They also sell Starbucks coffee IIRC. There are some other restaurants within walking distance.

Good luck deciding! :)

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn a few years ago and stay at Fairfield Inn properties often. This property is great. As others said, it does include a free breakfast; the food court is actually on the bottom floor of the Fairfield Inn (you enter from the outside between the Fairfield Inn and Courtyard).
Sometimes the rates you pay at Courtyard can include a free breakfast. The breakfast at a Courtyard is far better than a Fairfield. Courtyards often include omelet station and hot breakfast items and meats. Fairfield’s are usually more continental breakfast with Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches that you can eat. They usually also have a waffle station. That is about the limit of their hot foods.
If you can get a comparable price on the Courtyard with breakfast included, I would go for that. Do check to make sure the rate does include breakfast, as it is usually not included.

They are all good hotels. The Courtyard has an indoor/outdoor pool. It also has a sit down restaurant. There is a shop in the complex with quick foods. We liked for the money the Fairfield the best. I stay in a lot of Courtyards across the country so wanted something different in Orlando. The Springhill was our least favorite.

On mousesavers.com Mary has some special links to the hotels in Marriott Village as well as pictures. She says you can pool hop between the three hotels if you wish. You might want to check her rates out too.

We stayed there several times (though not in last couple years) and those properties are very nice. The FI is considered a 2-star property, and it is one of the nicest I've stayed. Gets good reviews on TripAdvisor, too.

Yes you can stay at the Fairfield Inn and hop to the Courtyard or SpringHill pools. FI does not have a hot tub, but the SHS and Courtyard both do. FI and SHS have a very decent continental breakfast. SHS gives more room, extra TV. If you're going to be in the parks all day anyway, do either FI/SHS rather than the Courtyard, save money. Then go shopping at the Premium Outlets down the street. FWIW.

One of the guidebooks said that that particular Fairfield was nicer than many 3 star properties. I wish I could've found a good rate for when we're going.

Thank you all for the information. I figuresd it was a good place but wanted to make sure. The $70 a night including taxes was more than I was hopping for but I want to stay in a nice place that I won't be sorry I'm stuck there in. I am looking forward to staying and know I made a good choice with all of your advice.

Thanks, YO :cool1:

You will have a great time! We loved the Fairfield Inn Marriott Village. We stayed back in June of 05. Check out www.tripadvisor.com for the reviews!! Overall the hotel is VERY clean and great housekeepers/staff. Free coffee/tea/hot chocolate brewing in the lobby 24-7. Walking distance to Bahama Breeze and a buffet restaurant something Corral. All rooms have mini fridge....
We were most impressed by the buffet continental breakfast. Sooooooo much to list, but assorted fruits, hot and cold cereals, pastries, muffins, Make your own giant Belgium waffles, bagels, toast etc etc. Yogurts, cereal bars...
We couldn't believe how big the buffet was. We didn't expect much at all since it was free. :goodvibes

We stayed at the Courtyard a few years ago. It was very nice. It had queen size beds, whereas the Fairfield only has double beds. The pool was beautiful. (I didn't see the pools at the other two hotels.) We had a deal where we got vouchers for two adults to eat breakfast in their table-service restaurant. I have stayed at Fairfields other places and am always pleased with the continental breakfast. The food court serves all three hotels. We were not impressed with it. It doesn't live up to Disney food courts by a long shot! I'm sure you will be pleased with either hotel. Enjoy your trip!

Just wanted to clue everyone in on a deal I found today at the Fairfield. Using the Orlando magic card I got a rate of $80/night for standard room with 2 dbl beds or $90 for king suite which includes separate living area with pullout sofa bed, microwave and frig. To get this deal just call the hotel and tell them you want the magic card rate. You can download an orlando magic card for free at orlandoinfo.com

I, of course, reserved the king suite for myself, DH and DS 13 during Easter weekend for 4 nights. DS loves the pull out sofa beds for some reason LOL:rotfl2:

Does anyone happen to know if they offer complimentary shuttle to Sea World...I forgot to ask.
