Fairfield Bonnet Creek pictures

Fairfield is running about 12.5 cents per point and a 2 bedroom in the summer is 224,000 points. So cost would be around 28,000. In about 6 months there will be resales on the market though. Given the quality though it may take up to a year before resales are listed.
I have never purchased FF points... but if you buy at a different FF resort... I understand that you can find them on the resale market for 2.5 cents/point. You would lose "home resort advantage"... but it would reduce the cost by 80%, so $28,000 would be under $6K.

I saw someone mention the 2.5 cent figure on TUG recently... but I have not priced these myself as I have not been interested in FF ownership. However... buying resale at FF makes a huge difference in cost. This is in stark contrast to DVC which protects the resale price via ROFR.

Im with M Gracey on this one. It is a nice looking resort but I too am leary of other timeshares. My little experience with timeshares left a bad taste in my mouth. I know that many have improved but they seem to be follwing DVC as a lead.

The pics are very nice

Katie...thanks for taking the time to post on your impressions of this new timeshare.

I agree that I don't have any interest in buying there. But I do like a couple of things about what I see in your report.

1. Fairfield Bonnet Creek will be a beautiful resort. That's a good thing....who would want a seedy, low-cost timeshare so close to our properties? I'm glad they're doing it first class.

2. I like to see the competition for DVC. They've had a pretty captive audience for a while now and hopefully this will stir things up a bit.

You can talk customer satisfaction all you want, but sometimes a little competition is a real benefit to the consumers.

Don't get me wrong....I'm a very satisfied DVC customer at this point. I just don't see the Fairfield timeshare as anything but a good thing for all of us.

Thanks for the photos... it looks nice but even if I were looking at another time share I doubt I'd want that. My personal tastes only, I am not too keen on the colors for the room nor the leather. Actually I am a rare breed who can't stand to have leather furniture in the house. Really neat to see though :)

Leather sofas, iron barstools, dining chairs with padded cushions.
Oh, I meant to mention that it would be interesting to see how this furniture holds up to the wear and tear of "kid tornados" hitting them.

The units are very nice looking, but I just have this feeling they won't hold up quite as well as the DVC furnishings.

Thank you so much for posting the pictures. I think it is going to be a lovely resort also.

Do they still have the dead palm trees out front near the main enterance?

I thought that was a nice touch when we were down there last month for MH. :p

Granny, excuse for me getting gross here, but.... ;)

Leather sofas are the best as far as kids! We got a set for our den and they have been wonderful! Kids have gotten sick on them, spilled things on them, jumped, potty training accident, you name it! Even my dog sneaks downstairs at night and sleeps on them. You would never know it! (Now, I know you want to come over and sit on them! :) )
They have been so fab we even got a set for the living room.

Best money we ever spent. I think that was a wise choice of furniture to be in a room.

Thanks for the great pix!
I'm impressed but don't think I would buy even if I had the cash (which I don't since I bought DVC  ). I'm very pleased to be a DVC member. And if the $28K estimate for a 2BR week is accurate, it doesn't sound like much of a bargain either.

But if someone wants to give me some Fairfield points, I wouldn't be too proud to stay there!

I wonder how long the pool table will hold up before someone rips the felt (shudder!)

Fairfield trades thru (and is owned by the same parent Company) RCI, while DVC exchanges thru II.

It will take a year or two for resales to hit the market. Fairfield resales are available for 3 to 5 cents per point at some of their nicer resorts. If you are interested wait..............

ralphd:D :D :D

I don't like leather because in hot weather - it will stick to your bottom - sorry I hate that......

In Ala and Fla it is hot and humity awhole lot....So I hate leather - won't have it my house or my car.

when you get wet from swimming in the pools - just try and sit on it - then tell me how much you love it.

of course I am not found of the couches at BCV - they are rough - I think because they expect alot of swimmers from the SALB to be here - but who really knows.

I don't think Fairfield will be in competition with DVC at all - DVC is on WDW property - Fairfield is not. WDW is not going to let anyone except DVC on their property - as long as that is true - DVC is it.

They are definitely going to add to the traffic problems - I wonder if that is the reason that the bus drivers have changed their routes.

No problem, gang...glad to post them. I figured if we were interested in seeing the place that other DIS DVC folks would be too. I realize now that my favorable comments about Bonnet Creek might have sounded like a sales pitch...but have no fear...I wasn't trying to sell anyone. :D I'm a happy SSR owner...and have no plans to purchase FF at this time. In fact, our next goal is a DVC add on.

My feelings about Bonnet Creek were pretty much summed up by Granny...it's nice to have an upscale timeshare "next door" to us rather than something that is run down. The pictures really don't do it justice...but there is a real wow factor when you enter those villas...as in "Wow, I want to stay here"...at least for us. Also, I think FF has upped the ante a bit with the size of the units and the first class furnishings and amenities.

It is my hope that DVC will take this into consideration when they build the next DVC resort. If I'm paying in excess of $100 per point through Disney, the place must have larger units (the size of OKW) and a monorail! :D

On the topic of kid tornadoes <grin>...

We don't have a leather couch...but have leather in the van...and I agree that it is extremely kid friendly.

SSR has padded seats in the dining area...I noticed they are scotchguarded...as my kids spilled a little water while we were there. I don't see it being a major problem either.

Iron barstools...well...we have three in our kitchen (one for each kid). If there is an incident between kids and barstools...well..let's just say that the barstools usually win! ;)

Kitchen looks nice as does the dining area, but my immediate reaction is that it looks small compared to OKW. The bathroom definitely looks to leave much to be desired in comparison.

diane...the whole time I was there, I was wishing for the video camera so that I could show the space better. The still photos do a lousy job. IIRC, there is another whole section to the master bath with a jetted tub. Also, you are only seeing part of the master BR.

It would be interesting to find square footage information for the FF villas and compare them to OKW.

Looks real nice!

Thanks for taking the time to visit, photograph, and post the pictures!

Ah ha...found the measurements of the units...Diane was right...they are smaller than OKW...but quite a bit bigger than SSR. I guess that's why they felt so big to me! :D

FFBC
1BR 902 sq ft
2BR 1257 sq ft
3BR 1503 sq ft
4BR 2510 sq ft

OKW
1 BR: 1005 sq. ft.
2 BR: 1410 sq. ft.
GV: 2375 sq. ft.

SSR
1BR 714
2BR 1075
GV 2113

Looks nice. It may be the better deal to stay "on" WDW property. Certainly has better trading options for non-WDW vacations.

Thanks for posting the pics. Looks very nice and upscale. Of course you would not want anything less that close to Disney!
I have heard + and - about Fairfield properties..
Boy for $28000 for a 2 br in summer, how much would a 4 br be?
WOW!
I also wonder HOW ff trades out? There are some FF properties I have seen LESS than desirable, others great, as this one will be.
Give me my DVC, However!!
Deerh
T -3 days and counting to WDW!!!:D
