As I noted in my trip report, we visited FF Bonnet Creek on the way home from BW one afternoon. The security guard couldn't have been nicer. We told her we just wanted to see the units and not go through the sales pitch. She directed us to the elevators (just enter the doors to the left of the sales center entrance) and said go on up to the 4th floor. The 1BR and 2BR units are open.

We were very impressed with units. They seemed much more spacious than the units at SSR, and the furnishings were fabulous! Leather sofas, iron barstools, dining chairs with padded cushions. The balconies were a bit larger than SSR (though I do believe they had plastic furniture like DVC). The kitchen was bigger (you could actually have two cooks in there) with more cabinet space and an icemaker in the fridge. Formica countertops though...no granite. 12 inch tiles in the bathrooms. I wish I would have taken more pictures of the bathroom and a better view (from the front door?) of the living area.

The pool area looks wonderful...though it is not finished yet. Looks like there will be some kind of lazy river type of area.

I think folks that compare units between DVC and FF will be really impressed. Of course, FF is offsite with their own shuttle service...which is a turn off to lots of people. Not to mention, if you buy direct from them you have to deal with their high pressure sales staff.

While I am sure the Bonnet Creek project is very nice, the fact that it is not Disney/DVC is strike 1, 2, and 3 for me.

Perhaps I look at everything through Disney colored glasses, but personally I would have absolutely zero interest in a non Disney timeshare.

Thanx for the report!

Thanks for the pix! Looks lovely. I'm sure demand will be high to stay there, and probably owners will use most of the rooms (as at DVC), but we'll still try to swap in there with our other timeshare when we're out of DVC points!

I totally understand. :D

Thanks very much for posting the pics Katie. The units are absolutely beautiful. I have a friend who owns Fairfield points from a home base of Williamsburg and she often trades into Orlando area successfully. I wonder if this will be an option for her to stay here---she'll be really excited if it is. I'm forwarding these pics to her right now.
As for offsite timeshares---we love ours. Though I admit, not as much as our DVC, we still have wonderful stays there.
Thanks again for the pics !

I was wondering what that resort was. I noticed the Bonnet Creek sign, on our way to BCV, but didn't know what it was. Our driver didn't know either, only that they weren't open yet. This isn't a Disney resort? Will DVC members be able to trade there? Thanks for the great pictures!

Sharon,

NO this is NOT a DVC or Disney operated resort. No Disney transport, no complimentary package delivery, no free park parking, no pool hoppng, or any other DVC related services. And in all likely hood DVC members can not trade in and out of this resort, except through a private owner to owner transaction...just like there is a block on all other Orlando area timeshares.

Thanks for the pictures. We went to the Bonnet Creek Fairfield timeshare presentation in January, but at that time, no rooms were finished to view. We were tempted, but did not buy. DH and I decided we need to stay away from timeshare presentations. They make it sound so tempting, that it is hard to resist. Instead we just recently bought 150 additional points at OKW, which we love.

Very nice photos. Thanks for sharing. Does anyone know how they compare in price to DVC?

The Bonnet Creek Resort (I believe that is what they call the Fairfield and other development slated for there) is one of the land parcels that Disney was never able to acquire.

thanks for sharing the pictures!!! I noticed you can see CBR!

Thanks for posting the pictures. I didn't realize they were that far along. The rooms look beautiful.

Thanks for posting the pics. We will be there the week before Christmas. Bonnet Creek trades via RCI so that would be the exchange company you have to use. I believe most of DVC is II.

Fairfield is running about 12.5 cents per point and a 2 bedroom in the summer is 224,000 points. So cost would be around 28,000. In about 6 months there will be resales on the market though. Given the quality though it may take up to a year before resales are listed.

Thanks for the pictures! I didn't realize they were that far along either in building. The pool area looks like it will be fun too.
I've been curious about this resort so thanks for filling us in with pictures.

Thanks Katie for taking the time to post this. Looks interesting! I wonder if the pool will have a slide?

Thanks for sharing.

Maybe everyone will pool hop over there and leave the Disney pools to the paying guests. :)
