I know it has been asked before - but can't seem to find it - but I was looking at a Virgin holiday and the price wasn't too bad for 2 weeks.

Think I saw the complex in December as it is near the Bahama Breeze.

Has anybody stayed here (I'm sure Wayne has?) - not stayed in a hotel for a while as we have rented a TH or condo for the last few years - but have some vouchers to use.

Thanks:thumbsup2

Yes, you are right, 3 times last year + Easter 07.
Great value hotel, nothing luxurious but very clean and modern, ok if its just somewhere to sleep. I heard it was not on the Virgin site this year, maybe they have added it again. Never paid more than £29/night, fridge inroom, free wireless internet thoughout, nice breakfast included, although they were experimenting last year, each visit was different, took away the waffle makers:mad: You can use facilities in any of the 3 hotels in the complex.
Right next to Bamahma Breeze and Golden Corral. Only one downside with the Marriott Village getting out onto SR535, probably only peak times when we go but with all the traffic from Premium Outlets, it builds up past teh Marriott Village entrance/exit, I sometimes go in left lane, left onto SR535 then U-turn, if lights are with you its way quicker than waiting in line.
Oh and it costs you $5 for them to accept a package at reception for you, and a tip to the guy that brings it to the room.
Some pics but ignore the mess, it was near end of hol.

Thanks Wayne - checked the price today with VH and it's gone up!! Not so good value now - even with my vouchers.

Like Wayne, we've stayed at the Fairfield a few times and totally agree about access during peak times.

The location is great and the whole family enjoy it there.

The only downside was last Christmas, we had a few issues with housekeeping (missed our room) but this was rectified with complimentary breakfasts at the Courtyard (very nice).

Hope you find something, give me a shout if you want any help looking.

Were you there at Xmas David? We were there 25th dec-3rd Jan, don't tell me we were there same dates and did not meet up.

We were there from 23/12/08 to 06/01/09 officially but we kept our room whilst we stayed in a 2BR in OKW from 24/12 to 27/12/08 and 04/01/09 to 06/01/09.

My son got on really well with some of the girls soccer teams who were there at the same time.;)

Thanks Wayne - trouble is I'm stuck with VH to use my vouchers & I know I am paying over the odds :sad2:

I was looking to go for 2 weeks - perhaps 28th October. We really like to have the extra space now & I was also looking at Sheraton Vistana.

How many vouchers do you have? is it worth using them?
If you can fly from London on 28th Oct for 2 weeks Virgin flights are only about £385, (indirect under £300 London or Mancheter)
Packages are a lot more than I expected for that time of year.

I have just over £1300 - so if a package is about £2200 - £2500 (2 adults 1 child) then it means I am paying £900 to £1200 for the holiday (they are the Tesco vouchers so have not cost me anything)

But if you could do DIY with Virgin for about £1500 for flights and hotel is it possible to use the tesco points on something else that would save you more money? Sorry I know nothing about Tesco vouchers or what you can use them for.
Seems a bit of a con using £1,300 of vouchers to get down to not much better than DIY prices.

Edit, sorry con is too strong, maybe not a great offer

I know what you are saying - but I looked at a week in a caravan to use the vouchers in the UK & that was over £1k:scared1:

I would go with direct flights, so you could say I am getting the hotel for free - I do normally DIY - but it's one way to use them now I have them.

Mrs D

Why don't you keep saving for another year and then you'll have more vouchers towards your trip and get a DIY cheapie this time.

I don't know how avid a collector of points you are. Are you an active member of PTS?

For info for those who were not active collectors, in the good old days, you got your shopping delivered and also earned 40.00 in Tesco vouchers towards your virgin holiday. There were also loads of other glithes, for example buy a packet of Tesco nappies for 1.67 and earn 85.00 in Virgin holiday vouchers....... those were the days.

Hi Heatherbelle - I was never a big points collector - my last one was only £4!!! Gave up the collecting when the easy ones went I'm afraid - no stamina:rotfl:
